New Year’s Sunrise Prayer Relay: Pray in 2024 With Us!
With New Year’s Day only five days away, we are delighted to invite you to the Sunrise Prayer Relay! Thousands from all around Australia will be praying together as the sun rises on the first day of 2024. There’s no better way to begin a new year than with prayer!
It’s incredibly easy to be a part of this growing movement. Simply choose a public location like a hill, lookout, bridge, public landmark or church in your city or town, and meet with other believers at sunrise on 1 January to pray in the New Year. You can also pray privately in your home.
Watch as Warwick Marsh and Pat Steele introduce the 2024 New Year’s Day prayer relay below!
Canberra Declaration is excited about our vision to build a greater culture of prayer and worship in the Church. This prayer relay is evidence of the growing prayer movement in Australia!
We suggest that you arrive 15 minutes before your local sunrise time to pray for around 30 minutes (or longer if you wish). Together, these prayer gatherings at sunrise around the world generate a synchronised 24-hour global prayer relay.
Previously, people in over a thousand locations in over 70 nations participated. This time we believe it will be even more! Please pass this information on to your friends and church networks. Let’s see prayer grow across our nation!
To register your involvement and receive prayer resources and updates, please click the green button below.
The Sunrise Prayer Relay Facebook page contains useful promotional resources and videos you may like to use. Also, if you post photos or videos on social media, please use the hashtag #SunrisePrayerRelay and/or email us so we can share with others. We look forward to the encouragement the body, working together, will be to each of us!
This New Year’s Day we are highlighting John 17:22–23, where Jesus prayed:
“The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.”
Praying for Christian unity so that the world may come to know Jesus is a magnificent prayer! We invite you to join prayer groups, churches and families who will be praying together for faith, family, freedom and life across the nation and the nations of the world. We need revival and transformation like never before.
God desires this too as He wants all to come to know Him (1 Tim 2:4). Why not pray that your group has an opportunity to share the gospel with others who have come to watch the sunrise?
This year we also feel to strongly encourage groups to have communion together. A synchronised prayer event that proclaims the victory (1 Cor 11:26) that Jesus has won through His body broken and blood poured out at the cross will be an incredible start to 2024! Praise and worship can also make your time of prayer more powerful.
Yours for revival and transformation in our nation and the nations in 2024,
Warwick Marsh, Pat Steele and Samuel Hartwich

Thank you Warwick & team. What a blessing you have been ever since I joined the Canberra Declaration. I will be 85 and Anne will be 90 in 2024, my wife has alzheimers and I am privileged to be her career. My prayer is that the Lord will keep me strong. We will be joining the sunrise prayer relay praying at home. We will share communion and worship together and pray. What amazes me is that although Anne’s mind may be troubling her when she prays I know that her spirit is alive and well.
Please continue to do what you do, your books and the weekly articles enable us to stay in the fight for our nation and be yond. We still feel part of what God is doing. We cant do what we use to but we can pray and your ministry gives us the fuel. With our love God Bless
