Lord Have Mercy! The Greens Blame Australia for Nepal
The Greens have never yet seen a tragedy they didn’t believe they could transform into an opportunity.
Take the devastating floods in Nepal.
Thirty-nine Australians are missing. But even as the search for those lost souls gets underway, Christine Milne has weaponised the disaster against coal and gas.
The former Greens leader took to social media to deliver her verdict:
“Aust media must report the truth behind Nepal glacier collapse.
“Global heating is destabilising glaciers in the Himalayas.
“When Albo sends his sympathy and deep concern, he also needs to explain to Nepalese that Aust intends to make it worse with new coal and gas.”
A Remarkable Theory
When tragedy strikes in Nepal, the first thing Australians should do is check whether someone in Queensland has been operating a coal mine.
It’s a remarkable theory. Not least because Nepal sits between China and India, two of the world’s largest emitters.
Yet somehow Australia, thousands of kilometres away, is being summoned before the climate tribunal.
Australia must repent.
Australia must atone.
Australia must stop digging up coal and gas.
And naturally, the Australian taxpayer must pay the penance.
The funniest part was Milne’s suggestion that Anthony Albanese must personally explain to the Nepalese people his part in the disaster.
Whatever Christine Milne is smoking, I want some. It’s clearly a trip!
Every Disaster Needs a Sinner
There’s something deeply religious about these days about environmental politics.
Every disaster must have a sin.
Every sin must have a sinner,
And the sinner must invariably be Australian capitalism.
But here’s what I want to know.
Who does Christine Milne blame for the destruction of the last Ice Age?
Was it BHP?
Was it Woodside?
Or was some particularly irresponsible Neanderthal driving a coal-powered mammoth?
Thirty-nine Australians are missing.
Families are waiting for answers.
And before the rescuers have finished searching, the climate preachers have already climbed into the pulpit.
Not to comfort the congregation, but to tell them who to blame.
And, as always, the sinner is the same.
Australia must repent. For the Nepalese flood.
Lord have mercy!

Australia paper had a good article, re the tragedy – roads too close to the river, people building on river flats instead of higher ground, hydro schemes. No disaster plan etc.

What nut farm let these morons loose, happy acres must be on strike.
I understand that a scientist said there was an earth tremor up high in those mountains which triggered the glacier. The glacier broke, moved and carried on down the mountain melting as it went and this is what caused the damage as I understand from that explanation. it sounds logical and it sounds as if that is what probably happened. There is no such thing as climate change.. mining coal and gas nothing to do with the floods in Nepal or anywhere else for that matter.the climate is not changing!
What happened in Nepal was a natural event. An earthquake or tremor moves the rocks which moves the glacier which is frozen at the top and melts as it gets down into lower temperatures bringing ice rocks and rubble and lots of water with it..
People all over the World have always used coal. We have a parliament with Nutters.
The Greens need to read the Book of Revelation and Luke chapter 24,25-28 so they understand world disasters are coming and will increase in great intensity before Jesus comes again. (Luke says: ‘There will be signs in the moon, stars and sky and on earth…the distress will be great. people will faint with fear and foreboding of what is coming…’)
We need to save all those we can and care for the earth but we also need to make peace with our Maker while there is still time.
