2026 Prayer for Life Pro-Life

Our Prayers Are Fuelling the Pro-Life Movement’s Growth

4 February 2026

3.3 MINS

Each January-February, the Canberra Declaration, in conjunction with Love Australia, is dedicated to praying into the greatest moral tragedy of our time: abortion.

During these 21 days of prayer and fasting for the unborn, we have upheld the 90,000 unborn babies aborted each year in Australia, as we pray for transformation in the Church and in our country to defend the innocent and support those in crisis pregnancies.

This week we are increasing our online prayer for the unborn. From Sunday, 1 to Friday, 6 February, we will pray every night on Zoom.

Every night we will be joined by special guests who will share and lead us in our prayers. Please join us at 8 pm AEDT by using the regular Zoom link as we join with heaven to cry out for God’s mercy and redemption to flow across our land.

Australia’s Walks for Life Begin This Saturday in Adelaide

This Saturday, 6 February will mark the first of Australia’s walks for the unborn. During these 21 days of prayer for the unborn, we have been praying for walks for life to be held in every capital state and territory city as a visible public witness.

Walks for Life continue to growth in strength, attendance and numbers. For example, Adelaide’s walk for life began in 2019 with 230 people. Now several thousand attend every year, including politicians from various political parties.

We strongly encourage you to save the dates for the following 2026 walks for life and make a commitment to support them through prayer and attendance.

Obtain a taste of these walks in the highlight video below, which includes a snippet from a speech from the Canberra Declaration’s Kurt Mahlburg.

Brisbane Gathering for Babies Born Alive and Left to Die: Monday, 9 February

In an answer to prayer during these 21 days, a medical professional in Queensland has taken and released a heartbreaking photo of baby Samuel, who, at 16 weeks’ gestation, survived an abortion and was left to die, still sucking his thumb.

There will be a public gathering to demand justice for those like baby Samuel this Monday, 9 February at 5:30 – 6:30 pm outside the Queensland Parliament House. As Church and State founder Dave Pellowe records in the heartbreaking video below, that these human beings are treated as medical waste by our political and medical systems is utterly unacceptable. We cannot remain silent.

Please pray for this event (see the flyer at the bottom of this editorial to print and share with others) and attend if you can.

Giving Recognition to These Incredible Pro-Life Leaders

The pro-life movement in Australia has grown significantly in recent years. The movement is stronger and pro-life organisations are more unified than ever before.

New national prayer campaigns, pro-life organisations and walks for life have begun across the country. This encouraging growth is the result of many dedicated and prayerful individuals.

As 1 Thessalonians 5:12–13 says, we want “to give recognition to those who labour among you and lead you in the Lord and admonish you, and to regard them very highly in love because of their work”.

This year’s 21 days of prayer and fasting for the unborn are thanks to the leadership of Ann Browne, Jodie Pickard and the incredible team at Love Australia/Love Adelaide.

In addition, we wish to publicly thank Michelle Oates for her many years of facilitating unity and increased working relationships between many pro-life organisations. (Michelle was also Canberra Declaration’s main presenter at the 2023 Babies Born Alive Federal Senate Inquiry).

To those who have worked tirelessly in leading the saints in prayer and fasting during these 21 days: thank you. Your reward is in heaven, and we rejoice with you (Matthew 5:12)!

Yours for ending our generation’s greatest moral tragedy,

Samuel Hartwich and Warwick Marsh

Thank you Ann Browne, Jodie Pickard and the team at Love Australia/Love Adelaide for the devotionals we have been receiving for the 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting for the Unborn in 2026.

Thank you all so much for all of you in what you are doing to bring this issue of killing babies in the womb (and after birth) into the public arena. I will be joining the very faithful RIGHTOLIFE ‘s in Perth as we pray every Lent outside Parliament House. Thank you Lord the momentum is building.
