The Pro-Palestine Mob Go Full Intifada on Helen Mirren
The harassment of Helen Mirren in London highlights rising antisemitism, political intimidation, and the distortion of public statements in an increasingly hostile debate over Israel.
Two and a half years of hate marches through the cities of the world… and what sort of world do we now find ourselves in?
Well, it’s the kind of world where an acclaimed and much-loved 80-year-old actress can’t even walk the streets safely at night.
Here’s what confronted Dame Helen Mirren as she took a stroll in London with her husband at the weekend. A thug yelling at her:
“There is Helen Mirren, the avowed Zionist. You said Israel should last forever because of the Holocaust.
“You’re an evil Zionist b*tch.”
Someone ought to tell these pro-Palestine thugs that threatening an 80-year-old actress because you disagree with her on foreign policy is not the flex you think it is.
One does wonder when exactly the “Free Palestine” movement became indistinguishable from a drunken soccer riot with keffiyehs. But I digress.
Helen Mirren’s Support for Israel
Helen Mirren’s crime is to have publicly expressed support for Israel. A dangerous thing to do in a world gripped by the insanity of antisemitism.
The Academy Award-winning actress is on record as having said,
“I believe in Israel, in the existence of Israel, and I believe Israel has to go forward into the future, for the rest of eternity. I believe in Israel because of the Holocaust.”
A perfectly rational position.
But, alas, ours is an age in which common sense is treated as hate speech, while actual hate parades through city streets behind fashionable slogans.
Mirren committed a second unforgivable offence when she co-signed a letter condemning the October 7 massacre.
“Hamas murdered and kidnapped innocent men, women and children. This is terrorism. This is evil.”
Helen Mirren isn’t just a talented actress. She’s a fine human being with a very well-functioning moral compass.
Unlike the anti-Israel mob, who lie and intimidate.
Which is telling, isn’t it?
I mean, if the anti-Israel position had merit, they would have no need to lie, let alone intimidate those who don’t share their view.
How Quotes Were Twisted Online
Helen Mirren told The Times of Israel that she fell in love with the world’s only Jewish homeland when she visited in the 1960s.
Here’s the quote, from that article, now being spread online, which, as I’ll show you in a moment, has been twisted to justify the sort of hatred we saw unleashed against her in the street at the weekend.
She is being quoted in memes online as saying,
“I saw Arabs being thrown out of their houses in Jerusalem. But it was just the extraordinary magical energy of a country just beginning to put its roots in the ground. It was an amazing time to be here.”
Except the anti-Israel mob has conveniently left out the part where she said that “I saw things that were wrong,” i.e. Arabs being thrown out of their homes.
The mob have made it appear that she was glad to see Arabs made homeless when, in fact, she said just the opposite.
But, since when have the intifada mob let truth get in the way of hating Jews, or hating their supporters?
