The Miracle of the Australian 2019 Election
Here are some insights on the huge national prayer effort and the 2019 election outcome. We must recognise and give thanks to the Lord that this prayer effort and His grace has brought about a miracle result.
There were many prayer initiatives around the nation; many groups, congregations, and individuals have prayed for the election and the issues surrounding it. A cry for the innocents killed by abortion, moral issues, and a cry for righteous Government.
There has been more prayer by more Christians in unity for one main issue than ever before in this nation. Coupled with things like the Graham Tour and Awakening Australia, there is a spiritual change in the nation.
I have written previously on politics and what God is doing. I am so thankful there is a turn in our nation.
Refer: Prophetic word on elections Israel and Australia (April/May 2019)

The Israel Folau saga has shown how are values and freedoms are being assaulted. The pro-death (abortion, euthanasia, pro-drugs, and corrupt moral sexualisation of children, gender bending etc.) agenda of the left is tragic. Identity politics is shouting down genuine discussion.
Even issue like care for refugees has been distorted from genuine people fleeing war to those who want an easy life. In fact, the LNP had increased our intake and stopped deaths at sea, yet lies were told saying they were ‘racist’ and cutting intake. Such lies from the Labor/Greens/Left agenda are being told over and over, and sound compassionate but are not.
Personally I want to keep it simple: I like my Government small, my taxes low, my economy vibrant, my borders strong, and my religion and speech free.
Looking at the The Canberra Declaration/Warwick Marsh/Margaret Court evening Zoom calls during the 21 Days of Prayer as an example, there are some significant observations. We noticed that the prayer went through 3 clear phases:
- Repentance, travail, and a cry for forgiveness for the sins of Australia
- A militant powerful declaration that the Lord Reigns over Australia and the election
- A celebration of the Lord and a change of prayer tone to declare of the Gospel of Jesus and revival/transformation
* This is God’s endgame; not the election which is a temporary situation; but the Gospel being made clear to the nation
* Recognising our sin, the need for repentance, and His grace and forgiveness through Jesus and the cross
My feeling is that similar things happened in all the prayer groups/initiatives to one level or another.
It is very important that we recognise we have been given 3 years of grace and it is not a time to relax. Australia has a call to be a Joseph nation providing material resources and also a place to send the Gospel to all nations. The left agenda is to thwart that calling.
The evening Zoom group started in unity of task and purpose, and it quickly become very much a group in oneness (i.e. having the same heart).
There have been thousands praying across Australia in this season; in fact this election has brought the largest united prayer effort ever in this nation.
The big deal now is how to continue this with a view to the ecclesia rising up to her fullness in Christ and seeing Australia come into a full awakening and national transformation!!
As part of this we must better engage the under 35 NextGen in prayer and spiritual leadership. We must be fathers and mothers to the NextGen, loving, caring, releasing, and empowering the emerging ministers of the Gospel of the Kingdom.
The election outcome is a start, not an end. There is much land to still possess. I have been reading Chronicles and the story of King Josiah is a key. Especially 2 Chronicles 34:33, where he held Israel faithful all of King Josiah’s days.
It is absolutely crucial for all to understand that we are in “the fullness of time”, so we can exercise the opportunities and authority we are being given.
NOW is the time.
The Federal election is still subordinate to God’s plans and purposes which is repentance, reconciliation, redemption, restoration, and a ruling bride. Australia is won in travail, intercession, thanksgiving, praise, worship, and speaking the word of salvation.
We are not alone — there are so many who have been and are praying. There is an army, the ecclesia rising into its rightful place as the bride of Christ. Sometimes we feel we are alone or just a small group. It is important to see that the Lord has raised an army.
1 Kings 18.18 “Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.’
This is a call to continue in prayer, to give thanks and praise to the Lord, to speak up, to engage in society for God’s purposes, and above all proclaim the name of Jesus over Australia.
Here is the relevant part of Chronicles:
Josiah Restores True Worship
2 Chronicles 34:29 Then the king sent and gathered all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem. 30 The king went up to the house of the Lord, with all the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem—the priests and the Levites, and all the people, great and small. And he read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant which had been found in the house of the Lord. 31 Then the king stood in his place and made a covenant before the Lord, to follow the Lord, and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that were written in this book.
32 And he made all who were present in Jerusalem and Benjamin take a stand. So the inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers. 33 Thus Josiah removed all the abominations from all the country that belonged to the children of Israel, and made all who were present in Israel diligently serve the Lord their God. All his days they did not depart from following the Lord God of their fathers.

It has been a privilege to help co-facilitate the 21 days of prayer with Warwick.
I want to honour everyone who has prayed diligently at this time for our nation.
The next 4 Mondays nights we will continue on the same Zoom meeting at the same time.
I am Australian but based in Malaysia at the moment. In my 70 years I have nevet known such an urge to pray re an election. I totally concur with the pattern you saw. In.my prayer closet here I saw the same pattern. And yes I agree, this was not so much about this election but about Gods longer term desire for the church in Oz to find its voice. Blessings.
“Personally I want to keep it simple: I like my Government small, my taxes low, my economy vibrant, my borders strong, and my religion and speech free.” Wow! Well said Kym. Fully agree with your article.
