COVID19 Call to Prayer – April 14: Pray with Joy
“I thank my God every time I remember you.4
In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5
because of your partnership in the Gospel from the first day until now, 6
being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you
will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and,
whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the Gospel,
all of you share in God’s grace with me. 8
God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.”
(Ch.1.v.3-8)
Prayer is about joy, partnership, confidence, feeling, heart, sharing and the affection of Christ.
As we are ‘physically’ isolated from our church fellowships, as Paul was when in jail from his beloved Philippians, let us remember we are neither socially and spiritually isolated, and let us pray with joy.
Petition: Please join with us in praying for:
- Austria – The number of confirmed cases is 14,041, with 368 deaths of those with Covid-19.

- For those teenagers coming to the end of their school careers, not knowing if they will be able to go to school again.
A Prayer of Repentance:
Lord, forgive us when we do not show the fruit of the Spirit.
When love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control are thrown out of the window.
Grant us to look to You and to be filled with Your Spirit – that we may show Your graces. Amen.
A Prayer of Thanksgiving:
Father in Heaven, we are thankful for signs of this virus being contained in several countries – including Australia. We bless You that the death rate in Italy, the UK and Spain is falling.
Most of all we bless You that You have already provided the ultimate vaccine for the deadliest disease we all have – sin. We praise you that the blood of Jesus cleanses from all sin.
Grant that we would proclaim the Good News to all who need to hear it, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
