COVID19 Call to Prayer – May 30: Teach Me Your Paths
Show me Your ways Lord,
Teach me Your paths.
Guide me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are God my Saviour,
And my hope is in You all day long.
Remember Lord, Your great mercy and love,
For they are from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth
And my rebellious ways;
According to Your love remember me,
For You, Lord, are good.
~ Psalm 25:4-7
You don’t know what to pray? You are confused? Want to know the way ahead? Then how about praying this simple but deep prayer? It’s the word of God – so you know it can’t be wrong.
“I was at once utterly weary of living and terrified of dying.”
~ Augustine, speaking about his feelings before he became a Christian – only Christ can deliver us – and He does!
Petition: Please join with us in praying for:
1. Sweden – The number of confirmed cases is 36,476, with 4,350 deaths of those with Covid-19.
The Swedes are being watched from all over the world because they have not adopted the lockdown model, instead trusting their citizens to behave sensibly. Although the predicted 50,000 deaths has not happened, the jury is still out on whether it has worked or not.
2. The ACT – now has had 107 cases (up 0 from a week ago), with 3 deaths (up 0).
In Australia there have been 7,173 cases (up 24). There have been 103 deaths (up 0).
6,582 people have recovered (up 2). 23 are in hospital (4 in ICU).
1,397,662 people have been tested, with 0.5% being positive.
15 of the new cases are in Western Australia – from a ship.
3. The people of Yemen, who after years of civil war are no nearer peace, and now have to face Covid-19.
4. The US drug company Moderna have become the latest company to begin human trials on a vaccine.
5. For those who are terminally ill and becoming desperate. Over 300 Victorians have applied for euthanasia in the current crisis.
A Prayer of Repentance:
Lord God, forgive the sins of my youth, and do not remember my rebellious ways.
You are the God of mercy. As we confess our sins, we claim Your forgiveness. Amen.
A Prayer of Thanksgiving:
Lord Jesus, we bless You for Your truth, Your mercy, Your grace and Your love.
How rich we are to have them! And how thankful that You give and give and give again.
We praise Your holy name. Amen.
