COVID19 Call to Prayer – June 27: Seek God
1 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good.
2 God looks down from Heaven on all mankind
to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.
3 Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt;
there is no one who does good, not even one.
4 Do all these evildoers know nothing?
~ Psalm 53
Psalm 53 is a repeat of Psalm 14. When something is repeated, it is important!
Today humanity in its foolishness thinks that we can do fine without God.
We are discovering that that is not true.
“All our misery is in having a false foundation, or else in loose building upon a true.”
~ Sibbes

A Prayer of Repentance:
Lord Jesus,
How foolish we are to accept the wisdom of this world –
which in its wisdom does not know You.
How easy we find it to listen to the voice of the Accuser
and not to accept Your Word.
Forgive us and give us ears to hears, eyes to see,
hearts to love, minds to think and wills to obey. Amen.
A Prayer of Thanksgiving:
Lord God, it is of Your mercy we are not consumed.
We thank You that in the midst of the storm,
You are our anchor, our rock.
We bless You that beneath us are Your everlasting arms.
Blessed be Your name. Amen.
