Roll call! God’s worship army, RISE UP!

Scripture

Reflection

I never anticipated that World War III would be like this. And, yet, here we are.

Closed borders, families torn apart, churches forbidden to meet, a rampant virus and even more rampant politicians exploiting fear on a daily basis. There is a war over vaccination status, the right to work and provide for one’s family, even the right for families to be together.

And then there are the wounded: those who have fallen ill, those who have suffered adverse reactions, those suffering job loss and business closures and alarming numbers of those suffering from anxiety, depression, and the list goes on.

It seems there are many, many freedoms already lost in this war that has crept up on us.

And yet, where are the front lines of this battle?

Is it in the hospitals? The media platforms and daily press conferences? At protests? Is it behind the closed doors of political board rooms? The bible tells us very clearly in 2 Chronicles 7:14:

“If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

The fate of the nation lies in the hands – or, more likely, on the knees – of God’s praying people, who will humble themselves, repent of wickedness and seek His face. In Jehoshaphat’s day, it was literally the priests and worshippers on the front lines, singing and declaring the goodness of God.

Indeed, the very verse reference of their battle song, “Give thanks to the Lord, for His love endures forever.” – 2 Chron 20:21 seems to hold a significant key for us in 2021 that the battle for this nation will be won through thanksgiving, praise and worship.

Ephesians 6:12 makes it abundantly clear that our war is not against flesh and blood, but rather against the spiritual powers and principalities of this dark age.

Therefore, the front lines of this battle are found in the secret place – in true repentance, in the fervent prayers and worship arising from God’s people.

It is not about the size of the platform, the numbers on a live stream or a leader’s celebrity status; it is the victory of the cross that we must enforce by the precious blood and mighty Name of Jesus. As the apostle Peter instructs us in 1 Peter 2:9, this call to the holy priesthood is not reserved for the elite, the clergy or those gifted in music.

It is for the household of ALL believers as God’s chosen people.

So how can we respond today? Will we be found on the front lines of the secret place, wielding our weapons of praise, worship and thanksgiving? (Ps 149:6). Revelation 12:11 declares that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb, the word of our testimony and by not loving our lives unto death.

It’s time for the sold-out lovers of Jesus to pour out ceaseless prayers and thanksgiving, knowing that it is the Lord who gives the victory for our families, churches and nation.

The battle lines are drawn, and the call has gone out. Will you respond? RISE UP!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we give you all the praise, all of our worship and all of our devotion.

We know that there is no problem too hard, no army too large, no plague or law that is too difficult for the Lord of heaven’s armies.

We fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, and we thank you for the cross. We declare that there is no substance in the world more powerful than the blood of Jesus, and we plead the blood right now over our nation, over our governments, over families, and over every church. We are so grateful for Jesus.

Thank you for His complete victory over sin, sickness and the devil. We receive your healing right now in our bodies, in our families and in our land. Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me!

For our praise is a mighty weapon to demolish strongholds. We choose to thank you, trust you, worship and obey for we know that You alone are good, and Your mercy endures forever.

In Jesus’ precious Name we pray,

Amen.

Hey Charlotte, your message is very timely.
Worship brought down the walls of Jericho.
Israel walked around the walls by submitting their flesh, their minds, and hearts for Gods purpose. They humbled themselves and committed to obeying his command.
God blessed them and they defeated their enemy. Then came the land of milk and honey.
How we pray that churches repent of their wicked ways. I wish I could go into detail but I believe you already know what I am referring to.
    Thanks for your awesome message.
    God bless.
    Stavro
