Pray and Believe

Day 5: Pray and Believe

5 May 2022

3.6 MINS

Intention

Pray for the Lord’s Word to be fulfilled in Australia

Scripture

Why are the nations so angry? Why do they waste their time with futile plans?

The kings of the earth prepare for battle; the rulers plot together against the Lord and against His anointed one.

“Let us break their chains,” they cry, “and free ourselves from slavery to God.”

But the One Who rules in heaven laughs. The Lord scoffs at them.

Then in anger He rebukes them, terrifying them with His fierce fury.

For the Lord declares, “I have placed My chosen king on the throne in Jerusalem, on My holy mountain.”

The king proclaims the Lord’s decree: “The Lord said to me, ‘You are My son. Today I have become your Father.

Only ask, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, the whole earth as your possession.”

– Psalm 2

Reflection

It is the Father’s good pleasure to give Jesus our nation, Australia, as His inheritance.

Since de Quiros, many prophecies have declared Australia as set apart for the Kingdom of God. Christians down the generations have prayed and believed that Australia would one day become that Great Southland of the Holy Spirit.

The prayer movement in this generation has rigorously continued this fight of faith.  Believing the word of the Lord, we have called our nation into her identity to fulfil this declared destiny.

We have watched as prayer teams have ‘taken ground’, establishing the Kingdom of God in the spheres of influence God assigned us to. The Lord, at the head of His army, has directed us with His eye upon us.

As recently as 2018, the prayer movements in this nation received a great victory. We saw a Christian become the political leader in our nation. The prophetic word received at that time was from Isaiah 22:20-25. It states that God has installed His new leader and this leader would be a “peg driven into a firm place”.

We received that word joyfully.

Since then, much has happened that has caused many to question this appointment; however, we have not received any other Word from the Lord. I believe we are to trust God and agree with His word, regardless of any concerns we may have.

In this new era of promises fulfilled, I believe it is important to continue to stand on God’s promises for our nation. We must continue to agree with the promise of Isaiah 22:20-25, and in this year of 2022 declare it to be ‘Yes’ and ‘Amen’. This is not a political stand; it is an encouragement to continue to agree with God’s word.

For now, let’s set our hearts together in faith to bless what God has done and continue to call God’s word into being. Let’s bless and pray for all whom God has appointed into office now and in this next season (1 Timothy 2:1-4).

Let’s use Jesus’ example, Who, while living under the oppressive and cruel Roman Empire, never spoke against the political leaders. Rather, Jesus established His Kingdom in authority and installed His ekklesia over the kingdoms of this earth. In our authority as ekklesia, let’s agree together and pray that God’s will be done in the political sphere and that His political appointments will be established and His Kingdom made manifest in our nation.

Prayer

Lord, we thank You for our nation. We thank You for the promises over our nation. We thank You that all Your promises are ‘yes and Amen’.

Therefore, we declare:

Every prophetic word over Australia will be fulfilled.

The many words of the Lord to Australia will not return void but will accomplish all that they have been sent to do.

We bless our nation with peace and with prosperity. We bless the leaders you have put in authority over us. We call them into their destiny. We bless the body of Christ with love, unity, great hope and faith for a future crowned with His glory manifested over our nation.

Amen.

Thank you both for all that you do. May we continue in His will as we put one foot in front of the other…with regular stops, for the joy of His word.
