Power to be My Witnesses – Day 25
Intention
To be obedient to God’s call to be His witnesses, trusting in His power to do so.
Scripture
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
– Acts 1:8
Reflection
The power to share the gospel message does not come from our own strength or ability. It comes from the Holy Spirit. In Acts 1:8, Jesus promises His disciples that they will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them, and they will be His witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. This promise extends to us as believers today. We have access to the same power of the Holy Spirit to be effective witnesses of the gospel message.
As we embark on this mission to reach one billion people with the message of God’s love in Jesus in the month of May, let us remember that it is not about our own efforts or achievements. It is about being obedient to the call of God and trusting in His power to work through us. We must be willing to step out in faith and share the message of salvation with those around us, trusting that the Holy Spirit will guide us and empower us to do so.
We also must remember that the gospel message is not just for a select few but for all people. It is a message of hope and salvation for all who believe. We must not allow our own biases or prejudices to hinder us from reaching out to those who may be different from us. The gospel message transcends all cultural, racial, and social barriers. It is a message that unites us in Christ and offers eternal life to all who believe.

Prayer
Dear Lord, we thank You for the promise of Your Holy Spirit, who empowers us to be Your witnesses in this world. We pray that as we reach out to five people with the gospel message, You will guide us and give us the words to speak. We pray that You will open the hearts of those who hear the message and that they may come to know You as their Lord and Saviour.
Lord, we pray for boldness and courage to step out in faith and share the gospel message with those around us, regardless of their background or status. Help us to see people as You see them, with love and compassion. We say, “Here I am, Lord, send me”, trusting in Your power and guidance. May this mission to reach one billion people with the message of Your love in Jesus be a testimony to Your grace and mercy. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
