Day 8: The Harvest is Ready
Intention
To pray for workers for the harvest and become the answer to our prayer.
Scripture
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.”
– Luke 10:2–3
Reflection
These days many Christians are praying for revival and for the one billion soul harvest. I personally believe that we are standing in front of the greatest harvest in history. With the GO Movement, we have seen millions of Christians active in sharing the gospel around the world and millions of people saved.
Here’s a story about one person sharing the gospel. There was a lady in the Dominican Republic named Wanda. She was on the way to a bridge to commit suicide. On that bridge, somebody told her about Jesus and she got saved! You can be the answer for one person and you can be the answer for many people.
Jesus said that the harvest is plentiful. But He also mentioned a problem that needed to be solved by prayer. What is the problem? The lost people – the unbelievers? No! The problem is that there are only a few workers. Many Christians are like a submarine. They show up on Sunday in a church but they disappear on Monday. They are silent.
Jesus said that we have to pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers. In this Scripture, He did not actually tell them to pray for people to get saved. He only said that we have to pray for workers.
Speaking to the same people that He had told to pray for workers, Jesus told them that they should become the answer to their own prayer. Then He commanded them to GO.
Sometimes it is easy to pray for people but it is not so easy to go. To ask the Lord to overcome this, you can pray for BOB today. But what is BOB?
B: Pray for a burden for lost people. Pray that the Lord will break your heart with what is heartbreaking for Him. Jesus decided on the cross that He would rather die than spend eternity without us.
O: Pray for open doors. There are people in your surroundings only you can reach. Pray that the Lord will open the doors of the heart of a person for you so that you can share the gospel.
B: Pray for boldness to talk to that person and tell him about Jesus.
It’s a prayer Jesus will be pleased to answer!

Lord of the harvest, send out labourers, send me. I am obedient to your call and I will go and share the gospel. Amen.
