Jewish Cricketer Sacked… For His Own Safety
Cricket South Africa said Teeger had done nothing wrong. And then hanged him anyway.
What a joke South Africa has become.
Just days after accusing Israel of genocide at the International Court of Justice, South Africa has sacked its Under-19s cricket captain for the crime of being Jewish.
But, of course, it wasn’t a racist decision. Oh no, far from it. Cricket South Africa has ditched the Jew “for his own safety”.
And if you believe that, I’ve got a bridge to sell you.

The trouble began when David Teeger dedicated his Jewish Achievers Ceremony award to members of the Israeli Defence Force.
For the crime of supporting the Middle East’s only liberal democracy in a fight to free hostages from terrorists, Teeger was called “callous” and “subversive”.
If Teeger had stood in a stadium leading 100,000 people in a chant of “Kill the White Farmer”, as Julius Malema did, he would have won a third of the nation’s vote. And had his speech defended by South Africa’s highest court. But I digress.
Cricket South Africa said Teeger had done nothing wrong. And then they hanged him anyway.
CSA announced, on the eve of the U19s World Cup, that he would be stripped of the captaincy.
They issued a statement saying:
“We have been advised that protests related to the war in Gaza can be anticipated at the venues for the tournament.
“We have also been advised that they are likely to focus on the position of the SA Under-19 captain, David Teeger, and that there is a risk that they could result in conflict or even violence, including between rival groups of protesters.”
So CSA expect us to applause them for preferring to sack Teeger rather than provide him with security?
Wow!
Knuckleheaded
The response should have been to increase security, not hide the player.
And how can it be too dangerous for him to play as captain, but not so dangerous that he cannot play at all?
They continued:
“In all the circumstances, CSA has decided that David should be relieved of the captaincy for the tournament. This is in the best interests of all the players, the SA U19 team and David himself.”
Oh, and by citing safety concerns, they admit they think that one side of the conflict is capable of barbarism.
This episode in South Africa is symptomatic of what we are now seeing across the entire world.
One section of the community is being seriously harmed, while another can do exactly as they like. This will not end well.
Teeger should seek political asylum in Australia, where he would be most welcome. Just not in Melbourne, or in Western Sydney…

Do I understand this correctly – the young man has been relieved of the captaincy for his own safety, but as a plain member of the team there are no concerns for his own safety? What about if he comes on to bowl and takes a wicket? What about when he comes in to bat and scores a century? What about if he takes a blinder of a catch to win the match? Are we to imagine all the protesters will applaud him?
Just exposes South Africa for what a disgrace that country is ! It is full of corruption where public monies magically disappear , politicians take bribes, the government supports Putin , approximately 40 % or more of their youth are unemployed, huge numbers of people live in shanties without basic facilities while the politicians live in great luxury, own properties Overseas and salt their illgotten gains inTax Havens while the country has big, frequent power black-outs despite being one of the world’s biggest exporters of coal. Yes, as James MacPherson suggests : –seek political asylum in Australia, but, as he says don’t go to live in Victoria or Western Sydney .
