The October 7 Footage: I’m Haunted By What I Saw

26 March 2024

1.7 MINS

I just visited the site of the Hamas massacre in Israel on October 7 last year and viewed footage of the attack. I will never forget what I saw.

Last weekend I woke up to beautiful sunlight and the sounds of birds and wildlife anyone who lives in the Territory knows well.

But I hadn’t slept well. I couldn’t.

I was haunted by images of gunmen in my garden, attacking my husband and children while they watched morning TV. I could hear screaming and felt a sense of horror, picturing them turning their weapons towards me.

I was imagining these awful things because I had just arrived home from a visit to Israel, where I visited the Kibbutz that was the site of the Hamas massacre on October 7 last year.

The things I imagined were the things that happened to Israelis in that Kibbutz on that terrible day.

I was shown footage from mobile phones, car dash cams, CCTV and the body-worn cameras of Hamas terrorists.

Footage of things that I will never be able to forget.

This was a terrorist attack that defies belief and rationality.

October 7 Demands Better Leadership From Australia

These fanatics are not interested in peace or a two-state solution. They want to kill and destroy Jews. That’s it.

It’s plain to see, and that leads to the other thing that haunts me.

That here in our Australian cities we had people praising the attacks.

We had marches in the streets about glorifying the “martyrs” of Hamas.

It didn’t even take people – including left-wing activists in the Greens — 48 hours after October 7 to start protesting against Israel, who had just had over a thousand of their citizens murdered.

It’s astonishing and, dare I say it, scary for that to happen on our own shores.

Hamas relies on the support of gullible western activists to provide cover for their terror campaigns and there are many in Australia who are only too happy to give it to them.

In fact, it seems some of them are not gullible but willing.

I’ve written this week in The Australian about my visit to Israel not only to reiterate the evil done against Israel but also to express my disappointment that we’re still waiting on Prime Minister Albanese to show the leadership we’ve seen from other country’s leaders and actually visit Israel.

It is time for the Prime Minister to make clear beyond doubt the commitment of Australia to our only democratic partner in the Middle East, to peace in the region and our advocacy for the return of every hostage taken on October 7.

The evil and depraved actions perpetrated by the monsters on 7th October is beyond comprehension. These crimes were committed on innocent people and children and not only Israelis but others from different countries.
No one is safe from these homicidal animals, this includes Christians as well as Jews and all who don’t follow their murderous ideology.
The time will come in Australia when an attack like this will occur and the people of Australia must rise up against this murderous fanaticism, as the authorities and citizens of Israel have done.
Well done Jacinta for having the courage to face the actions of the beast.
God bless you and your family

Thank you so much for visiting Gaza, Senator Jacinta and for listening to the stories of the those survivors, and viewing footage of those who were either killed, raped, shot or decapitated. The aftermath of that horror would be so hard to bear. The fact that the Hamas committed such barbaric acts and kept it all on camera to broadcast round the world, speaks volumes about their mentality. Most of us would class that as actions of deranged men or those who were intent on evil at any cost, in order to receive applause from their peers or followers, including the misled youth of the West. (Such acts of violence by the Hamas is due to their radical ideology as well.)
It is a tragedy for Israel that this has ever happened. The Holocaust was enough but now this. I thank God that the IDF have fought back under God’s guidance and not been intimidated. They will do all they can to defend their land and regain the hostages. Such heroic acts of courage deserve praise for they are laying down their lives in order to protect others.
May God continue to use Christians and aide groups and our prayers and offerings to help Israel in this fierce war against evil. It’s not against flesh and blood on the deeper spiritual level but against Satan contesting with God over Israel.
It is a terrible war with so many wrongly blaming Israel for protecting her land and with so many lies on the media about Israel’s performance (which has been brilliant, compassionate and ethical.) The accuser of the brethren works day and night to convince this generation that Israel is the perpetrator- when in fact it’s the Hamas in Gaza backed by Iran’s currency and weapons, and the other the proxies of Iran has in Lebanon and Yemen…The world has been very slow to wake up to the radical extremists aim which is to kill the Jews and infidels (Christians) and all who do not turn to radical Islam. This is the agenda and those who participate are seen as martyrs….In the Book of Revelation however, God has his definition of the true martyrs who die for Christ and their faith and cry out ‘how long O lord before you avenge our blood?’
May our Prime Minister do his research and stop trying to please the Left who have learnt the slogan ‘from the river to the sea’ but have failed to study history and find out that Israel was given the land 1948 and by God way back in the time of Abraham when God made a covenant with the him, to give the land of Caanan to bless all nations through the Jewish people. The leftists also don’t realize was given to Gaza in 2005 as a peace offering but it was hijacked by the Hamas by 2007 who use them now as a human shield, and hence built tunnels underground to store weapons, and built hospitals to act as a camouflage for their headquarters, and set up schools to indoctrinate children with hate of the Jews.
May our laws forbid invasion of peaceful rallies in Australia by radicals who are misled. May our Foreign minister Penny Wong do her homework on the situation in Gaza and the Hamas so she knows who is really receiving the aid money and re-selling the donated food at inflated prices. (Even the USA has realized the aid money is going astray and have withdrawn aid money for a year while Australia has ignored warnings about theft.)
May we in turn continue to pray through for Israel and the IDF in Gaza and Lebanon, and for the safety of all citizens, for the PM and war cabinet and may we continue to stand with Israel in all ways.
Above all, thank you Jacinta for speaking up on such a controversial topic and for your heart felt compassion.

Dear Jacinta, you are a wonderful person. God bless you and your family. It would be wonderful to meet you ! What you witnessed will, sadly, probably haunt you forever . This Barbarism is similar to what my people ( First Nation ) suffered in WW2 as part of Ethnic Cleansing. I want to forget and never see again the country of my birth where my ancestors lived from the Bronze Age . The Australian Government should be ashamed of themselves in sending money which is aiding Hamas’ fight. I object to the indoctrinated by their school-teachers of very young children, who then take part in these marches ,whose object is the Destruction of the State of Israel and extermination of Jews.
