John Ruddick MLC Calls Out Government Funding of ACON
New South Wales MLC John Ruddick has delivered a powerful speech to the state parliament about the excessive funding of rainbow activism.
Up to $14 million dollars and at least 22 agencies receive taxpayer funding to support their “neo-religion”. Ruddick has called for government funding to cease and allow these groups to continue only if they can raise the funding themselves.
He noted that organisations such as ACON (formerly known as the Aids Council of NSW) served their purpose during the AIDs epidemic, but have since had to “invent new rainbow causes that are so important that the taxpayer has to fund them.”
Gravy Train
When lobby groups fight for a cause and win, they don’t just pack up their lobbying tents and go home. Too often, they simply find new and more radical causes within the same framework. Lobbyists who rely on government grants do not simply pat themselves on the back after winning their cause – they get addicted to the gravy train.
But just as bad as the slippery slope of legislation is the slippery slope of government funding. When fights for equal rights are won, they evolve into campaigns for special privileges.
Ruddick stated,
“This isn’t about equal rights, equality of opportunity or even equality of outcome. This is about lining the pockets of activist groups. If businesses, individuals and community groups want to celebrate Pride Month and everything else I wish them all the best … when it is self-funded.”

Australia still has a blasphemy law architecture that goes by a new name — namely, our vilification and anti-discrimination framework. These laws have striking parallels to Australia’s old blasphemy laws, with the exception that they serve a new god and are more readily enforced than the old ones.

I fell for the idea that I could make myself to be female. I took cross-sex hormones, had numerous surgeries and identified as female. I came to realise that none of it changed my male body — with it's 30 trillion cells with XY chromosomes — into a biological female.

Disgusting rort. Taxpayers money should be going into schools , social housing , hospitals, etc.
Thank you Brian for exposing this terrible use of $14 million tax payers money. I thank God that MLC John Ruddick has called it all into question asked for it stop. There is no way the money should go to activism that leads to damage the lives and health and identity of our children and teens. May enough people speak up and may the Parliament come to their senses.
