Prayer for Life 2025

Launching 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting for Life in 2025!

15 January 2025

2.6 MINS

We’re roaring into the middle of January already, and the start of the year means it is soon time to pray about life (the unborn). 21 days of prayer and fasting for life begins this Sunday, 19 January, and runs until Saturday, 8 February.

The start of the year is a most fitting time to consider life’s beginning. Sadly, in Australia alone, around 90,000 unborn babies lose their lives to abortion every year.

Launch of 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting for Life 2025: Wednesday 15 January

In anticipation of this important and vital time of prayer and fasting, the Canberra Declaration will hold a Zoom prayer meeting on Wednesday night (15 January) to mark out these 21 days and bring them before God’s throne of grace.

Watch below as Ann Browne from Love Australia introduces 21 days of prayer and fasting for life and briefly discusses their importance and how you can be involved.

Wednesday night will be special in another way. We are delighted to let you know that Jodie Pickard, the founder of Love Australia, will join us on Zoom as we launch this nationwide prayer call and dedicate it to the Lord!

We are very grateful that Jodie has made herself available to help us prepare and position ourselves to enter into God’s heart for the unborn. Please join us for this important time!

Receive Daily Devotionals for These 21 Days

Love Australia is releasing 21 devotionals to help us intercede before God for the unborn. One devotional will be made available each morning.

There are two ways you can read these devotionals.

The first to have these devotionals directly delivered to your email inbox. If you’d prefer this option, simply email the word ‘prayer’ to info@loveaustralia.org.au, and you will be added to the mailing list.

The second way is to read them on the Daily Declaration. If you are already subscribed to the Daily Declaration, then you will receive a link to the devotional every morning in that email. If you’d like to sign up for the Daily Declaration, please do so by clicking the green button below!

(Please note, this will sign you up to receive emails with each day’s news articles, not just the devotionals.)

You can also access the devotionals by going to the dedicated 21 days of prayer and fasting for life Daily Declaration page here!

Zoom Prayer Meetings

During these 21 days, the Canberra Declaration will dedicate each of our weekly Zoom prayer meetings (Sunday, Monday and Wednesday nights) to the unborn and the tragedy of abortion. Join us by using the regular Zoom login.

But during the last seven days, we will significantly ramp up our prayer efforts. From Sunday, 2 February, to Saturday, 8 February, we will hold a Zoom prayer meeting every night at the usual time of 8 PM (AEDT).

We were going to do it for 21 nights in a row. But with prayer & fasting for a federal election coming up we realised that we needed to pace ourselves for the prayer battles ahead. The federal election is likely in either March, April, or May of this year.

Please consider what time you can set aside to join believers across the nation in praying for the unborn. There is tremendous value in private prayer behind the “closed door”. Jesus promises that God “will reward you” for this kind of private prayer (Matthew 6:6).

But there is also tremendous value and encouragement in joining with other believers (Hebrew 10:25). God loves it when His children come together in unity, agreement and purpose!

Lastly, Ann Browne has also written a deeply moving article introducing these 21 days and giving some fascinating background to them. She recalls a time when prayer for a couple who decided to have an abortion changed their minds at the last minute. Read Ann’s article on the Daily Declaration here!

Yours for the preciousness of every life,

What a precious, humble saint of God Most High Anne is. Praying the LORD’s favour and protection upon Anne, Jodie and all who are leading the way.

Thank you , Samuel, for hosting this podcast. Hopefully there will be more podcasts as we focus on what is happening in our nation this year.
