Two new bombshell reports allege that the UK and German governments knew the truth about the Wuhan lab leak, hid the truth from the public, and spread disinformation to cover their tracks.

The Wuhan lab leak theory is back in the headlines again — and the latest revelations are damning.

According to brand new reports, it wasn’t just the United States government that knew in early 2020 that SARS-CoV-2 had a lab origin. The UK and German governments were also aware the virus leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Yet, instead of informing the public, they kept it quiet, pretending the virus arose naturally — even as the developing pandemic plunged the world into chaos.

First, on the revelations emerging from the United Kingdom.

Over the weekend, The Mail on Sunday revealed that in March 2020, former MI6 chief Sir Richard Dearlove handed a secret dossier to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, claiming that Covid-19 was engineered in the Wuhan Institute of Virology — and that China was covering it up with a false wet market origin story.

“It is now beyond reasonable doubt that Covid-19 was engineered in the Wuhan Institute of Virology,” the dossier stated. “The PRC is now engaged in an information & influence operation to deflect responsibility.”

Johnson found the contents of the dossier compelling and repeatedly asked intelligence agencies to investigate further, but to no avail. Britain’s scientific and intelligence communities went on to downplay the lab-leak hypothesis, in an apparent effort to avoid offending China and to protect research funding streams.

The German Government’s Cover-Up

Second, on the revelations emerging from Germany.

Last week, Süddeutsche Zeitung, one of Germany’s leading daily newspapers, revealed that the German Federal Intelligence Service (BND) investigated the origins of SARS-CoV-2 and assessed an 80 to 95 percent probability the virus leaked from the Wuhan lab.

Among BND’s findings were that:

• key data on early COVID-19 cases was deleted from Chinese databases
• the first infections may have occurred weeks earlier than officially reported
• Chinese military researchers were involved in coronavirus experiments at the Wuhan lab
• American funding was linked to gain-of-function research there
• Western intelligence had prior warnings about safety concerns at the facility

However, these findings were never allowed to go public. Under both Chancellor Angela Merkel and later Olaf Scholz, the German government withheld this information from their citizens and from international bodies like the World Health Organization, according to the report.

Indeed, the German government still hasn’t come clean about what it knew. Last week’s revelations came to light only through the courageous investigative work of Georg Mascolo and Holger Stark, in a joint endeavour between Süddeutsche Zeitung and Die Zeit.

Fake Outrage From the New York Times

Major newspapers in the United States reacted to these shocking revelations with feigned outrage.

In a column dishonestly titled, ‘We Were Badly Misled About the Event That Changed Our Lives’, The New York Times wrote, “when people started speculating that a laboratory accident might have been the spark that started the Covid-19 pandemic, they were treated like kooks and cranks”.

The only problem? The Times spearheaded those very attacks, variously labelling the lab leak hypothesis a “fringe”, “unproven” and a “conspiracy theory”.

As critics have quipped, a more apt Times headline would have been, ‘We Badly Misled You About the Event That Changed Our Lives’.

Instead of blindly echoing official narratives, The New York Times and other American newspapers should have done what they were once famous for before they became propaganda outlets for the establishment — namely, real investigative journalism.

In fact, it was left to small independent outlets like The Daily Declaration to tell the truth of what happened in Wuhan — including the massive conspiracy to conceal it. Read on for a summary of how we covered the Wuhan lab leak story as it developed.

The Truth About the Wuhan Lab Leak

It always was a strange coincidence that SARS-CoV-2 was said to have begun in Wuhan’s wet markets — the same city that houses China’s leading coronavirus lab, the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

After reviewing the evidence, President Donald Trump was unafraid to connect the dots and allege a lab origin for the virus.

But since everything Trump says must be wrong, legacy media outlets immediately dismissed the lab leak account as a conspiracy theory. Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms censored anyone promoting it.

Australia’s taxpayer-funded ABC News was particularly aggressive, publishing multiple articles smearing the theory as a Trump-inspired hoax. In May 2020, Media Watch devoted almost two full programs to discrediting journalist Sharri Markson, one of the few Australian reporters investigating the possibility of a lab origin.

The media relied on a March 2020 Nature Medicine article titled ‘The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2’, which claimed the virus was “not a laboratory construct or a purposefully manipulated virus.”

However, a later US congressional investigation found that its authors had privately admitted their suspicions that the virus came from the Wuhan lab.

Even more damning, the investigation revealed that Dr Anthony Fauci, then-Director of NIAID, had secretly commissioned the paper — despite his agency funding risky bat coronavirus research at the same Wuhan lab, all on the US taxpayer’s dime.

Fauci had been warned by Professor Kristian Anderson that some of the virus’s features seemed “possibly engineered” and “inconsistent with expectations from evolutionary theory.” Immediately, Fauci and NIH Director Francis Collins convened a call with a group of virologists, including Anderson. They pushed for a paper to “disprove any type of lab theory.” The team reversed their initial assessments, and within days, ‘Proximal Origin’ was published. Eight weeks later, Fauci stood at a White House press conference and cited this very paper—without disclosing his involvement. Months later, Kristian Anderson’s lab received an $8.9 million research grant from Fauci’s agency.

Another key publication used to discredit the lab leak theory was a Lancet letter published in March 2020, signed by 27 scientists who condemned the theory as a “conspiracy theory” that spread “fear, rumours, and prejudice.” But the letter was secretly orchestrated by Peter Daszak, a Fauci associate whose organisation had funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab. The Lancet later added an addendum acknowledging this conflict of interest.

Daszak was also part of the World Health Organization’s 10-member team sent to Wuhan to investigate Covid-19’s origins. The US had not originally recommended him, yet he was sent despite his clear conflicts of interest. His team concluded that a lab leak was “extremely unlikely,” but only dedicated three pages of their 400-page report to the theory — after spending just three hours at the lab.

Time to Unplug From the Fake News Media

Where was the media during all of these twists and turns?

Governments hid the truth from their citizens and the legacy press acted as their lackeys. These forces teamed up to spread disinformation, all the while censoring those who told the truth — all in the name of “combatting disinformation”.

This is how democracy dies.
