Dr Voddie Baucham: Stalwart Defender of Biblical Truth, Speaking in Brisbane
Dr Voddie Baucham is a globally respected preacher, author, and apologist whose voice has become a clarion call for believers in an age of compromise.
Known for his emphatic denunciations of cultural Marxism and its infiltration into the church, Baucham exposes the dangers of ideologies that seek to redefine justice, morality, and truth apart from God’s Word. His extensive experience in cross-cultural ministry, coupled with his firm stand against secular ideologies, makes him a crucial figure for our times.
Having served for almost a decade in Zambia, Baucham played a critical role in establishing the African Christian University, labouring for robust classical education rooted in the gospel and suited to the African context.
Now, he is returning to the United States to help launch the Founders Seminary in Florida, a new institution dedicated to equipping men for pastoral ministry with a firm foundation in Reformed theology and biblical fidelity. His journey reflects a deep commitment to advancing the mission of Christ across cultures and continents.
Dr Baucham on Critical Race Theory
In his writing and preaching, Baucham has been a vocal opponent of cultural Marxism, particularly as it manifests in critical race theory (CRT). His book, Fault Lines, sent waves throughout evangelicalism by exposing the modern Marxist worldview at play within CRT movements.
It was in his public opposition to CRT that he was first accused of supporting White Christian nationalism — a term right out of the Marxist playbook, accusing one of belonging to the hegemony, abusing privilege, and oppressing minorities.
Rarely used positively, this label was a smoke screen to distract from his criticism of CRT. Reflecting on the term, Baucham acknowledged that there might be something to like about it, depending on its meaning and intent. But there was just one problem with applying “White Christian nationalism” to what he espouses: Dr Baucham is not White. Not even close.
So why was his worldview labelled with that title? His time in Zambia, a constitutionally Christian nation, made the inconsistency even more apparent. On paper, Zambia represents everything CRT proponents oppose — everything Marxists say constitutes White Christian nationalism — except, of course, for the “White”.
Why does no one have a problem with Zambian Christian nationalism? In Fault Lines, Baucham provides the answer, pointing to the Marxist underpinning of CRT, which seeks to set oppressor against oppressed, and minority against the hegemony. He identifies “White Christian nationalism” as what he calls a “triple word score” in this ideological game.
Through his book, his public ministry, and his teaching, Baucham recognises the importance of exposing the fundamental bankruptcy of such worldviews and the cultural movements they produce, standing as a stalwart defender of biblical truth.
Dr Baucham at Stand Firm Conference
Beyond his writing, Baucham continues to equip believers to resist deceptive philosophies and stand on the sufficiency of Scripture. His sessions at various events challenge Christians to pursue the ongoing mission of Christ on earth — what we must embrace and what we must reject. For those interested in hearing him in person, he will be visiting Australia in 2025.
On Wednesday, 2 April, Dr Baucham will be a featured speaker at the Haddon Institute Symposium alongside Dr Hensworth Jonas, exploring critical theological and cultural issues confronting the church today.
Dr Baucham will also be a key speaker at the Stand Firm Conference, hosted by Hope Reformed Baptist Church. This landmark event, taking place on 4-5 April 2025, at the Brisbane International Convention Centre, serves as a rallying point for believers who refuse to compromise on the truth.
Bringing together authoritative voices in biblical preaching and cultural engagement, the conference is more than just an event; it is a call to arms for Christians who recognise the urgency of our times.
As Australia and the broader Western world face increasing opposition to biblical truth, believers must be equipped to stand firm in the faith, contending for the Gospel in both church and culture.
At Stand Firm, Baucham will challenge attendees to resist deceptive philosophies and stand on the sufficiency of Scripture, with his sessions centring around the theme of the conference: the ongoing mission of Christ on earth — what we must pursue, and what we must reject.
With sessions designed to fortify believers in their understanding of God’s Word and their ability to engage with contemporary challenges, this conference will be a vital encouragement for pastors, church leaders, and lay Christians alike. In a world that demands compromise, now is the time for the church to stand unwaveringly on the truth of Scripture.
At the Stand Firm Conference, attendees will be equipped with the biblical foundation needed to resist the pressure to conform and instead live faithfully for Christ.

Great article Tom!!!!!
Great ! A Christian who relies on Biblical Truth, not Modernism (Critical Race Theory) which has corrupted Christian Churches which claim Islam is “same “as Christianity . Nonsense ! We have 10 Commandments + Bible+ preach Love + Forgiveness. Muslims have Koran + hadiths which order commission of Crimes against Humanity ! Another Evil is the modern practice of twisting the interpretation of the Bible to make “lawful “sinful behaviours(see Destruction of Sodom + Gomorrah !) Pope Francis has allowed incorporation in some Third World countries of some pagan shamanistic practices(sorcery ) in the Mass which are against the 10 Commandments !Latin Mass is again outlawed , but, it would have been impossible to incorporate Aboriginal belief in Smoking Ceremonies + belief in Creation by Rainbow Serpent( which is contrary to the Bible) in any optional Latin Masses with their emphasis on offering worship to the ONE, TRUE GOD !Critical Race Theory is Marxist + Enemy of Christian Churches which it has infiltrated !
