Trump Issues Easter Proclamation, Prepares ‘Extraordinary’ Holy Week Celebrations at White House
President Donald Trump has issued a Holy Week proclamation affirming the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the cornerstone of the Christian faith, and announced an “extraordinary” schedule of events at the White House to celebrate Easter “with the observance it deserves.”
On Palm Sunday, President Trump issued his official presidential proclamation for Holy Week 2025. In it, he called the nation to reflect on the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ — “the living Son of God who conquered death, freed us from sin, and unlocked the gates of Heaven for all of humanity.”
Trump’s Easter proclamation marks the beginning of a series of events the White House has planned to commemorate the holiest week on the Christian calendar.
Organised by the newly established White House Faith Office, the Easter week celebrations will include prayer services, worship music, a formal Easter dinner, and participation from prominent Christian leaders across the country.
The weeklong celebration is part of the Trump administration’s effort to publicly affirm and restore the place of faith in American public life.
Trump’s plans stand in stark contrast to how Easter was marked under the Biden administration. The Biden White House banned Christian imagery from a children’s Easter event, and then on Easter Sunday, issued a proclamation for Transgender Day of Visibility, sparking intense backlash from many Americans.
Trump Prays for ‘An outpouring of the Holy Spirit’
“During this sacred week, we acknowledge that the glory of Easter Sunday cannot come without the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on the cross,” President Trump wrote in his Easter proclamation, before giving a clear presentation of the Christian gospel.
“In His final hours on Earth, Christ willingly endured excruciating pain, torture, and execution on the cross out of a deep and abiding love for all His creation.”
“Through His suffering, we have redemption. Through His death, we are forgiven of our sins. Through His Resurrection, we have hope of eternal life,” the message continued.
“On Easter morning, the stone is rolled away, the tomb is empty, and light prevails over darkness—signalling that death does not have the final word.”
The message also included a prayer for the spiritual revival of America.
“This week, we pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon our beloved Nation,” the president wrote. “We pray that America will remain a beacon of faith, hope, and freedom for the entire world, and we pray to achieve a future that reflects the truth, beauty, and goodness of Christ’s eternal kingdom in Heaven.”
Melania Trump joined the president in extending Easter greetings to families across the country.
Hymns, Opera and Communion to Mark Easter
The Holy Week schedule has been put together by Faith Director of the White House Faith Office, Jennifer Korn.
“President Trump will honour and celebrate Holy Week and Easter with the observance it deserves,” Korn told Fox News Digital. “It will be a special time of prayer and worship at the White House to be shared with Americans celebrating the week leading up to Resurrection Sunday.”
On Monday, the president will release a Holy Week video message. Then, on Wednesday evening, he will host a formal Easter dinner at the White House. The evening will feature Christian hymns performed by the U.S. Marine Corps Band, a special opera performance by Charles Billingsley, and prayers offered by leading pastors and ministry figures.
Guests will include White House staff, national faith leaders, and Trump administration officials such as Karoline Leavitt, White House Press Secretary, and Pastor Paula White, the senior advisor to the Faith Office.
On Holy Thursday, Trump will host a private staff worship service at the White House, which will include Scripture readings, prayer, and communion. The service will feature worship music performed by Liberty University’s ensemble and will include contributions from Franklin Graham, Pastor Greg Laurie, and Pastor Jentezen Franklin.
Trump Renews Promise to ‘Defend the Christian Faith’
As the events of Holy Week unfold, Trump’s administration is seeking to provide not just ceremonial observance but spiritual leadership — a deliberate return to Christian values in public life.
Leavitt emphasised that this week’s events fulfill a key campaign promise. “President Trump promised millions of Christians across the country that he would create a White House Faith Office, and he delivered on that promise,” she said.
Last Easter, Leavitt — who was serving as the Trump campaign’s national press secretary — was highly critical of the Biden administration’s co-opting of Easter to promote transgenderism, calling his proclamation “appalling and insulting”, and part of a “yearslong assault on the Christian faith.”
“We call on Joe Biden’s failing campaign and the White House to issue an apology to the millions of Catholics and Christians across America who believe tomorrow is for one celebration only — the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” she said last year.

In contrast to the former president’s support for Marxist ideologies, President Trump used his Easter proclamation to express his ongoing commitment to defend religious liberty and Christian expression in American society and the nation’s key institutions.
“My Administration renews its promise to defend the Christian faith in our schools, military, workplaces, hospitals, and halls of government.”
The president concluded his proclamation with a blessing.
“May God bless you and your family during this special time of year and may He continue to bless the United States of America.”

This sort of news is absolutly staggering in the best possible sense! Great article!
Glory to God, uplifting article. Showing Gods mighty hand at work. The hope for Australia’s election as we Unite in prayer and fasting. Bless you and your household Kurt.
This is great news indeed. Congratulations to President Trump. Meanwhile, our King of Australia and also Head of the Church of England continues to promote and patronise Islam. What a remarkable contrast.
This has such great potential for good.
Praise and glory to our God for His mercy in bringing His word back to the attention of everyone …
BUT …
The word repentance didn’t appear once.
Has Pres Trump himself come to faith and repentance ?

I have read your article above with some skepticism Trump. The current opinion polls shows on our national TVs as of today, indicate Trump’s very nasty tariffs imposition has unsettled world trade, economy and peace and moving voters to Labor Party on the current national elections.
The value of our savings with Superannuation funds have decreased by 10% We have lost our savings because of Trump’s tariff policies. Further you are highlighting the spiritual advisor, Paula White, to the President from the White House Faith Office is much to be desired. Her life style and doctrines are under much scrutiny by evangelical churches. Last week she was on a campaign asking people to contribute US$3,000 to her ministry if you are seeking God for a miracle. Australian churches do not subscribe to this type of false prosperity doctrine.
I remember when we marched up Sturt St (Ballarat) during Passion Week. Now we do nothing to recognise Christ the Redeemer…instead we celebrate other religious events that are paganistic and do not honour the Lord.
Despite all the criticism levelled at the President Donald Trump and an awareness of his many failings as a man, this article moved me to tears. I just wish our Government here in the UK would take such a positive stance on the Christian faith and our celebration of Easter. Here in the UK there is clear persecution of Christians and those who stand for Christian values, which is so sad to see. I despair at the state of our once great country. I pray that President Trump will grow in the Christian faith and that he will give his life wholeheartedly to God and to His son Jesus. Great great article Kurt.

I remember public Marchesin Easter Week with a Jesus carrying the Cross, films like the story of Moses escaping Egypt with Charlton Heston; the Passion + the Death of Jesus with Richard Burton in “The Robe ,”+ similar movies shown on TV every Passion Week every year. Now Christians in Australia are under threat by the major Parties pandering to the votes of migrants hostile to Christians + our schools+ hospitals. The Family is attacked every day + abortion(Genocide ) promoted. I thank God for saving the life of PresidentTrump. Wish I were an Invitee at the White House Easter Prayer Week + Celebration ! For years other countries have taken economic advantage of USA. He has every right tp protect USA Industry. We should never have made China our major(sole ) trading partner+ stopped virtually all manufacturing in Australia. I remember in Playfords’ Liberal SA :– govt built +-owned + run Coal-fired Power stations, lots of manufacturing + cheap electricity bills.
Shame on “Catholic ” Biden + Democrats =Enemies of USA + of the World by promoting on Easter Sunday 2024 Marxist “Transgender Day of Visibility”. Shame on King Charles (Head of Church of England ) inviting Muslims to worship a day of Ramadan at his home, etc .
I believe President Trump is sincere after he escaped assassination twice. His Vice -President JD Vance, is a convert to Catholicism who takes his Christian Faith very seriously.
Albanese calls himself a “Cultural Catholic “, ie a non -believer in Christianity .Dutton another Catholic who for political reasons promotes other religions to our detriment . SHAME ON YOU BOTH ! A country that turns against God perishes .Australia is doomed with Enemies Within + Without –Communist Chinese warships circumnavigating Australia , a big private Chinese airport built inthe north of WA, port of Darwin owned by them, now talk that Russia is seeking to build a military base in Indonesia able to strike with missiles Australia. In the words of the Prophets of the old Testament -“REPENT ” or Australia is doomed while it worships the Golden Calf+ promotes Perversions, Pornography , Gambling + “Recreational “Drugs to children ! WHY do our Major Political Parties pride themselves on not being like Trumpie- ending Woke, DEI , Waste , etc ?
I have been following Trump for the last three or four years, I can only conclude that the Whitehouse weekend was a big stunt!
Do we really need Trump to issue any sort of declaration about faith. He has a job to do as president. He is not the spiritual leader. we need to stop this celebrity christianity culture! Last I heard he wasn’t elected pope
