Indigenous Friends of Israel: Strip Grace Tame of Australian of the Year
Indigenous Friends of Israel states that Grace Tame should be stripped of her Australian of the Year award. Her anti-Israel protest chant incited violence and promoted dangerous rhetoric.
We are calling for Grace Tame to be stripped of her Australian of the Year award because of her call for genocide of Jews in Israel, Jews around the world and Australians on the streets of Sydney.
At a protest in Sydney against the visit of the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, she led the crowd in the chant, “From Gadigal to Gaza, globalise the intifada.” This is incitement to violence. Just weeks after the Bondi Beach massacre, Grace Tame is calling for it to happen again somewhere in Sydney. Gadigal is the name of the Aboriginal custodians of Sydney.
The second intifada directed at Israeli civilians by Palestinians resulted in suicide bombings, shootings, and rocket attacks and led to over 1,000 Israeli deaths. We do not want to see this repeated in Australia, Israel or anywhere in the world.
The kind of incitement by Grace Tame and other leaders of the Sydney protest led to violence when demonstrators defied police directions and a court decision as to the area the protest could be limited to, leading to assaults on police.
Grace Tame’s shocking speech would lead to a repeat of the Bondi Beach massacre of innocent Jewish civilians, one only 10 years old, and elderly Australians who escaped the Holocaust.
False Claims and Double Standards
She and others have also made false claims of genocide against President Herzog and the Jewish state. The International Court of Justice has not issued a decision on whether President Herzog or Israel has committed genocide. Israel has acted in self-defence while in a battle for its very existence and maintains that it has acted within international law.
Urban warfare expert John Spencer says the IDF in Gaza have a comparatively low ratio of civilian to combatant deaths — a 1:1.5 ratio (1 combatant to 1.5 civilians). This is because the IDF have warned civilians beforehand, whereas Hamas has used civilians as human shields to raise the death toll to win the propaganda war.
What is also shocking is that she is a sexual assault survivor and received her Australian of the Year award for being an advocate for survivors of sexual assault. Yet she has not spoken out about the brutal sexual assaults and murder of Israeli women on October 7, leading to the phrase, “Me too, unless you are Jewish.” The United Nations eventually confirmed the horror of this sexual brutality against Israeli women on October 7.
Grace Tame is not a model for Australian women to look up to or emulate, and should be stripped of her award.

She is entitled to her opinion but these protests are something else, hateful and totally un Australian. What happened to the idea of live and let live. Why do we humans have to be in conflict with one another all the time? Seems world peace is unattainable until Armageddon.
Norman and Barbara- I totally agree with you.
Didn’t show much grace nor was she tame. Her name is quite ironic.
Wears a T-shirt with profanity on it when she met the PM now this.
DisGraceful.
Great article. Covers all points. She should be stripped of her award asap as she is not a good role model for Australians , especially the young. She incites murder and is selective about which children and women are allowed to be raped , ie Jewish.
The insanity of a SA survivor and so called women’s advocate supporting rapist/terrorists is mind blowing
The article relies on the old propaganda play book, use Highly Loaded and Emotional Language, rather than evidence: there was no “Call for genocide of Jews” “Incited violence” “Repeat of the Bondi Beach massacre”. The central accusation is that Grace Tame called for genocide by chanting: “From Gadigal to Gaza, globalise the intifada.” This claim contains several flaws. The article assumes that “globalise the intifada” necessarily means violent attacks on Jews worldwide. That interpretation is asserted, not demonstrated. The word intifada historically means “uprising” in Arabic. While the Second Intifada involved violence, the term itself is used variably — including in non-violent protest contexts. The article does not acknowledge this ambiguity. Instead, it treats one interpretation as the only possible meaning and escalates it to genocide advocacy.
Jesus declared himself to be Truth, when we ignore truth, we reject Christ. There was no “Call for Genocide” No Evidence of Direct Call for Violence. There is no quoted statement where Tame explicitly calls for: killing Jews, violence in Sydney, attacks on civilians, or genocide. The accusation of “calling for genocide of Jews in Israel, Jews around the world and Australians on the streets of Sydney” is a dramatic extrapolation without textual evidence. Stop the propaganda, if you need to lie to make your point, then you’re obviously on the wrong wide.
The article references the “Bondi Beach massacre” and suggests: “Grace Tame is calling for it to happen again somewhere in Sydney.” This is an extreme claim. There is no demonstrated causal link between: a protest chant, and a specific mass-casualty attack. This is a classic guilt-by-association and fear amplification tactic: Refer to a traumatic event. Suggest moral equivalence. Imply imminent repetition. The article provides no evidence that Tame advocated violence similar to that event.
Slippery Slope Fallacy. The claim: “The kind of incitement… led to violence when demonstrators defied police…” This implies that Tame’s speech caused assaults on police. However: No evidence is provided that she directed lawbreaking. No evidence is provided that she encouraged assaults. Protests becoming disorderly does not automatically prove speaker intent. This is a post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy (after this, therefore because of this).
You are coming across as Islamist.
The authors argue that because Grace Tame is a sexual assault survivor, she should have publicly condemned sexual violence on October 7. There is no evidence she endorsed sexual violence. Failing to publicly comment on every atrocity is not equivalent to supporting it. This introduces a moral litmus test unrelated to the original claim. This is a form of whataboutism and moral framing to undermine credibility.
The article relies on Personal Attack Rather Than Policy Argument. “Grace Tame is not a model for Australian women…” This shifts from argument to character attack. It does not engage with: Free speech considerations. Standards for revoking Australian of the Year. Legal thresholds for incitement. It is an ad hominem conclusion designed to damage reputation rather than argue procedural grounds. Grace Tame was named Australian of the Year by the National Australia Day Council. The article: Does not outline the criteria for stripping the award. Does not cite precedent. Does not establish whether chanting at a protest breaches award conditions. Without this context, the demand appears political rather than procedural. The article does not: Present Tame’s full speech. Provide her explanation of the chant. Acknowledge debate over protest language. Explore free expression protections in Australia. It uses Strong emotive bias, Conflation of protest rhetoric with genocide advocacy. Fear-based association with unrelated violent events. The argument relies more on rhetorical escalation than substantiated evidence.
A simple online check would tell all you need to know about the deeper understanding of ‘Globalise the Intifada’.
The phrase **“globalize the intifada”** combines two loaded elements: *intifada* and the idea of making something global.
### 1. What does *intifada* mean?
The word *intifada* (Arabic: “shaking off”) became widely known through:
* The **First Intifada**
* The **Second Intifada**
These were Palestinian uprisings against Israeli control.
* The **First Intifada (1987–1993)** included civil disobedience, protests, strikes, stone-throwing, and some violence.
* The **Second Intifada (2000–2005)** involved far more lethal violence, including suicide bombings, shootings, and Israeli military operations.
Because of this history, the word *intifada* carries different connotations depending on who is speaking:
* For some, it means *popular resistance* or *uprising against oppression*.
* For others, especially many Jews and Israelis, it evokes *terrorism, civilian deaths, and traumatic violence*.
—
### 2. What does “globalize” add?
To “globalize” something means to extend it worldwide.
So the phrase **“globalize the intifada”** generally implies:
* Taking the struggle associated with the Palestinian intifadas beyond Israel/Palestine.
* Encouraging activism, resistance, protest, or confrontation in countries around the world in solidarity with Palestinians.
—
### 3. The deeper meaning (why it’s so controversial)
The phrase is controversial because it is **strategically ambiguous**.
Depending on the speaker, it can mean:
1. **Global protest and activism**
– Organizing demonstrations, boycotts, campus activism, political pressure campaigns.
2. **Global resistance framed as revolutionary struggle**
– Viewing the Palestinian cause as part of a broader anti-colonial or anti-Western struggle.
3. **A call that can be interpreted as endorsing violence**
– Because the Second Intifada included attacks on civilians, some hear the phrase as encouraging similar violence internationally.
That ambiguity is the core issue. Supporters may claim it means *“globalize resistance and solidarity.”* Critics argue that invoking “intifada” — given its history — normalizes or romanticizes violence.
—
### 4. Why reactions are so strong
For many Jewish communities worldwide, especially those connected to Israel, the Second Intifada is associated with:
* Suicide bombings in buses and cafés
* Civilian casualties
* Widespread fear
So when the phrase is used at rallies in cities like Sydney, London, or New York, some interpret it as a threat rather than a metaphor.
Others, especially activists aligned with anti-colonial or pro-Palestinian movements, view it as a symbolic call for global justice movements.
—
### 5. In summary
The “deep meaning” depends on the ideological lens:
* **Literal linguistic meaning:** “Spread the uprising worldwide.”
* **Activist meaning (supporters):** Globalize resistance and solidarity with Palestinians.
* **Critics’ interpretation:** A dangerous slogan that echoes or glorifies violent uprising.
It is a phrase that functions as both a political rallying cry and a rhetorical flashpoint — precisely because its historical memory includes both civil resistance and lethal violence.

Totally agree with you Norm and Barbara. Thanks for your article of truth in an untruthful world. Was looking for a petition?? Appreciate your integrity and passion.
Thank you, Norman and Barbara, for standing up for righteous standards and for exposing what amounts to a degrading role model for youth. It has been tragic to see Grace attempt to lead youth into a Pro Palestinian and anti-semitic stance. Her arrival at Gaza with a supposed large supply of food was also a ploy and uncalled for; I found it extremely disturbing to witness and a far cry from reality. No one in their right mind arrives at a war scene in a boat, dresses up for the media in a flag ammid such danger and chaos. Itw as also v a very low act to pretend the IDF sought to kidnap her.
The youth of our generation need to know how to be an outstanding role model, how to empathize, and have compassion (after doing thorough research) and to choose to support an authentic, needy cause and to develop goals that are wise and helpful to others. Tragically she wasted the time of the IDF and put them at risk and of Governments and often needed ‘rescuing’. Even her own country was embarrassed in the end.
May God raise up genuine leaders, with discernment, who use their talents for the needy people of this world.
She should have the award taken from her
