“Big Day for World Peace”: Trump Announces Iran Ceasefire
Iran has responded to the United States President’s no-nonsense rhetoric by agreeing to open the Strait of Hormuz.
In a press release, Trump indicated that Iran’s 11th-hour proposals were something he could finally work with.
This will be a double-sided ceasefire, subject to Iran “agreeing to the complete, immediate and safe opening” of the channel, he explained.
Other reasons for the agreement were that the United States had “met and exceeded all military objectives.”
Negotiating a Long-term Peace Plan
Key among those was ensuring Iran’s Imams never have a nuclear arms program.
Trump added that the US and Iran were “very far along with a definitive agreement concerning long-term peace with Iran, and peace in the Middle East.”
He said the US “received a 10-point proposal from Iran and believes it is a workable basis on which to negotiate.”
“Almost all points of past contention have been agreed to between the United States and Iran, but a two-week period will allow the agreement to be finalised and consummated.”
Ending the short announcement, Trump added,
“On behalf of the United States of America, as President, and also representing the countries of the Middle East, it is an honour to have this long-term problem close to a resolution.”
This was preceded by Trump acknowledging Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who (along with some reported diplomacy from Iran’s BRICS partner China) appears to be playing an instrumental role as mediator in the conflict.
Replying hours later, the Iranian regime issued its own press release confirming the provisional deal.
Like the United States, Iran first paid tribute to the work of Pakistan’s government, describing their efforts to end the war in the region as “tireless.”
Speaking for the regime, Seyed Araghchi, Iran’s foreign affairs minister, implied that they were doing Pakistan a favour by working with the United States.
“In response to the brotherly request of PM Sharif in his tweet,” Araghchi wrote, “and considering the request by the US for negotiations,” the regime agrees to the ceasefire.
This is on the condition that “attacks against Iran are halted.”
If so, Iran’s regime declared, “Our Powerful Armed Forces will cease their defensive operations.”
The ceasefire, from Iran’s angle, they said, was also a reply to the US’s “request for negotiations based on its 15-point proposal.”
This also takes into consideration Trump’s announcement about a workable deal.
Strait of Hormuz: ‘Strategist’s Nightmare’
The Islamist regime acknowledged the US’s response, confirming Trump’s assertions that Iran had finally put forward a negotiable “10-point proposal of their own.”
Araghchi’s official reply (which was posted to X) added,
“For a period of two weeks, safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be possible via coordination with Iran’s Armed Forces and with due consideration of technical limitations.”
Notably, Iran was still firing at Israel and other states after the ceasefire agreement was announced.
However, the temporary ceasefire now appears to be holding.
Israel is reportedly not thrilled by the 10-point proposal, which includes allowing Iran to charge fees on ships entering the Strait.
The Associated Press reported that the ceasefire did not apply to Benjamin Netanyahu’s fight against Iranian-backed Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon.
The Strait of Hormuz, described as a chokepoint by Three Lines Shipping, is a strategist’s nightmare.
At its smallest point, the channel is only 40 kilometres wide.
Even with minimal conventional weapons, analyst Matt Gertken explained, this gives Iran a geographical kill zone advantage against anyone trying to navigate Hormuz.
Yet, according to international law, as agreed upon via the UN, “all international vessels are guaranteed the right of transit passage.”
“This means,” Three Lines said, “that commercial ships from all over the world have the legal right to pass through the strait without interference.”
World Leaders Welcome Ceasefire
According to AP, world leaders are welcoming the ceasefire.
New Zealand called the deal “incredibly encouraging,” Germany’s chancellor supported the announcement, while Oman and governments in Asia rallied at the news.
AP also noted that the UK’s Socialist Prime Minister, Kier Starmer, who refused to support the United States and free up the Strait, has now announced a visit to the Middle East.
Most reports agree that these are positive signs from the US and Iran.
Astounding many a critic, for now, Trump’s rhetoric of war diplomacy appears to have worked.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt declared the deal to be a victory for the United States.
Thanking the military’s resolve and professionalism, Leavitt said,
“The success of our military created maximum leverage, allowing President Trump and the team to engage in tough negotiations that have now created an opening for a diplomatic solution and long-term peace.”
She then credited Trump’s tactics for getting the Strait of Hormuz reopened.
“Never underestimate President Trump’s ability to successfully advance America’s interests and broker peace.”
Will the Ceasefire Hold?
Iran also allegedly declared victory.
They labelled the US and Israel “cowardly enemies, saying they had “suffered an undeniable, historical and crushing defeat.”
The totalitarian regime credited the “warriors of Islam” for achieving said so-called victory in forcing “criminal America to accept its 10-point plan.” (See the long-winded declaration of “victory” here.)
Some, like former General Jack Keane, and Sky News contributor, Erin Molan, are not confident that the ceasefire will hold.
Citing Taqiyya, Islam’s well-known law about lying to Infidels, sceptics all over social media are not convinced Iran’s Islamists can be trusted to keep up their end of the deal.
Trump is not as sceptical.
He took to social media later this afternoon, calling the Pakistan brokered mediation a “big day for world peace.”
“Iran wants it to happen; they’ve had enough! Likewise, so has everyone else!”, he exclaimed.
The President also said that the US “will be helping with the traffic buildup in the Strait of Hormuz.”
“There will be lots of positive action! Big money will be made. Iran can start the reconstruction process.”
Confident yet cautious, Trump then announced that the US will be “hangin’ around” to make sure everything goes well.
The US president added, “Just like what we are experiencing in the United States, this could be the Golden Age of the Middle East!!!”

Thank you. good update with common sense. appreciate TRUTH TRUTH.
THANK YOU.
Great news
My take is the ceasefire will fail because of the frog/scorpion problem.
There once was a river that had a log across it that many animals used daily to cross from once side to the other. On one side of the river was much food, water and other resources that all the animals needed and they crossed the log bridge daily to supply their needs. There was a kingdom of frogs at one end of the bridge who also used the bridge to transport their resources to sell to the other animals. There was a kingdom of scorpions that lived far away that had all their own resources and did not need anything that crossed the log. However the scorpions wanted to control all the resources that crossed the bridge and demanded that all the animals pay them before they could cross the bridge, if they didn’t pay then the scorpions would sting them to death. The frogs and some of the other animals continued to trade ignoring the scorpions. Then the scorpions set fire to the log and it was almost destroyed so much so that no animals could cross the bridge anymore. The scorpions then announced to all the animals that if all the frogs agreed to pay the scorpions again for all the resources that crossed the bridged then they would stop stinging the frogs to death and put out the fire on the log and the animals would be able to cross the bridge again. All the animals and the frogs could not understand why the scorpions were destroying the bridge and killing the frogs, but the scorpions explained: “We’re sorry, we couldn’t help ourselves, it’s our character”
Missing the point and dishing up twisted word salad.
Great article Rod. Sadly the scorpions has already broken the ceasefire. Let is continue to pray for a miracle!!!!!
Any Deal will leave that murderous Regime in power . Shame, Shame on the cowardly Socialist West and Australia for not supporting Trump. This is a repetition of what the West did throughout history which is why the World is in such a mess today. What will happen to us if we are threatened with invasion?
