Former IRG Soldier Turned Missionary: “A Few Extra Dollars for Fuel is a Fair Cost for a Free Iran”
A former Iranian Revolutionary Guard soldier turned Christian missionary says freedom from Iran’s Islamist regime is worth the economic costs Westerners might face.
Iranian missionary Mohamad Faridi has told Westerners that a free Iran is worth the cost of a few extra dollars in petrol.
Faridi, a Christian convert who left Islam in Iran and then had to flee for doing so, posted the video to Facebook, stating,
“How about worrying about ridding this world of this tyrannical (Islamist) regime, instead of fretting over fuel prices?”
“Freedom has a cost,” he added.
“Let freedom reign!”
Telling followers that he had not heard from his family, who are still in the country, he asserted that this was where our concerns should be.
Faridi also thanked Donald Trump, Israeli and American soldiers for giving “his people the best possible chance of liberation.”
From Jihad to Jesus
A missionary leader, Faridi, has been the president of Iran Christians International (ICI) since 2019.
The organisation’s main focus is evangelising Muslims, and “raising an army” of those who’ve chosen the risky road of leaving Islam.
Their website states that ICI “translates, prints and equips the underground church with sound doctrinal Christian literature and provides legal assistance to persecuted Christians.”
ICI’s main reason for being is to share the Gospel through advocacy, discipleship, and prayer.
Faridi is perfectly placed.
He was born in Tehran, was raised in the strict observance of Shi’ite Islam, and served in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
Despite his mother being Persian, his family spoke Arabic, not Farsi.
According to a free e-book titled Forsaking My Father’s Religion, Faridi said he lived out every ritual and became “the most zealous of all his family.”
“I was prepared to become a martyr,” he wrote.
“The only certain way, according to the Quran, to achieve that is dying for Allah in the holy war, jihad.”
“I wanted to sacrifice my life willingly in jihad, and suffer a worthy death to gain Islam’s paradise,” Faridi said.
In actuality, “all he was truly seeking was forgiveness from his sins and a relationship with God.”
Ultimately, Faridi realised that his life under Islam “was driven by fear.”
“There was no personal relationship between God and me,” he explained.
Faridi said, there was “no warm affection in his heart, either from me to ‘Allah’ or from ‘Allah’ to me.”
“It was all actions done out of duty.”
He converted to Christianity at the age of 22, because “the message of what Jesus had done through His sacrifice had brought (Faridi) to (his) knees.”
Faridi recalled, “repenting and giving his life to Jesus Christ that very day.”
“I didn’t know him, but I trusted him, because he laid down his life for me,” he said.
Under Islam, Faridi testified, he found that he was constantly labouring to sacrifice for a god who was never satisfied.
Yet, in Jesus Christ, he met God labouring and sacrificing Himself for Faridi.
“Everything that I had worked for through rituals — peace, rest, and forgiveness of my sins — was already freely provided in Christ Jesus,” the ICI boss declared.
“I so wanted Him in my life, and to know Him more and more,” and that came with a price.
He was kicked out of home, then found himself learning from and leaning on the underground church.
Denounced one day for sharing the Gospel, he fled to Turkey only to find himself in no-man’s land, where he faced the constant possibility of deportation back to Iran.
Faridi said he eventually ended up in the United States, which, he said, upon reflection, was surreal.
A Door Opened for the Gospel
In a 3 March podcast posted to The Archive — a legacy channel for controversial apologist David Wood videos — Faridi seemed to view the Trump administration’s actions against Iran’s Islamists with anticipation.
“Iranians are done with Islam,” he explained.
“Out of the 75,000 mosques, 50,000 closed in 2023. In January this year, mosques were burning down, and protestors were destroying shrines and Islamic symbols.”
“The Persian people are done with the evil of Islam, and they’re already moved on from it,” Faridi claimed.
For instance, he said,
“The fastest-growing evangelical church is inside Iran. ICI are working with them.
“We have underground churches everywhere. Every little town, in cities, and villages, has underground churches in them.”
There is a revival happening in the country, Faridi shared, and it’s “going to be awesome.”
Many ex-Muslims are millennials, and their Islam-exit is being noticed all over.
So much so that the Iranian parliament was told by its Islamist president that “Christians were stealing Islamic soldiers out of the camp of Islam and taking them into the camp of Christianity.”
Appearing to be appreciative of the potential door for ministry opened up by Trump’s goal of denying Iran’s Islamists nuclear weapons, Faradi said he was “grateful forever to God.”
Keen and hopeful, Faradi concluded that he couldn’t wait “to go back to Iran and openly share the Gospel with all of the Iranians.”

Donald Trump has finally concluded that Iran's Islamist rulers cannot be reasoned with, exposing the harsh reality that some regimes are driven by ideology, not negotiation.

Whilst its good to see this man turn to Christ, there is way more involved with whats going on than “just a few dollars more for fuel”. We’re talking food production, plastics, everything associated with petrochemicals, everything associated with transportation. And what about the great man of peace Trump who egged them on to keep fighting, he just used them. What help is he and Israel giving now? They’re bombing and hitting with missiles the very people he said he was coming to help! They were still open to talks when Trump and his warmonger lunatics attacked. The great man of peace and what does he say “we might just drop more bombs on that island for fun” or Hegseth “we will give no quater” which is illegal in conflict to even suggest or say. Whilst I know how evil the Iranian regime is you don’t fight evil with evil which is what Trump and his minions are. Speaking peace peace and even setting up a board of peace. Now he even commissions choosing the people himself to approve it, what a joke, 24k gold coins with his image on it! Peace peace but war everywhere by him. What about Cuba and what he’s doing to the people there, the hospitals can’t operate properly, hardly any fuel, no power. What does he say “im going to take Cuba”. He wants to take a Greenland!
No, Trump is Biblically pure evil. Are they the words and actions of a Christian according to the Bible and teaching of Jesus? Honestly, are they? He claims to believe in God, I bet he’s never even read the Bible. And what an abomination he makes the Trump Bible! I cannot believe how blind actual Christians are to the pure evil of this guy and his wicked lying minions. Any hint of Christianity from him and all his cabinet are pretence.
Faridi has family in Iran. I think it’s well within our duty as Christians to listen to those who are brave enough to say, “Hey, I get it, but I want freedom for my people!” (paraphrased)
These are the words of a man who fled his home country because he chose Christ over giving in to the government. Now he’s speaking out, and not only that, but reaching out.
Trump aside. Faridi and those like him are either listened to or ignored. If the latter, then the parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man applies.
Micah 6:8.
Can you please rejoice and be thankful that this lost man Mohamed Faridi, got to meet his personal Saviour Jesus, received Him as his Lord and now living in truth and freedom. Rejoice and give praise to God that he is doing a courageous mission pointing other blind and lost people to know the only true living God, Jesus. This is far more worthy of contemplation. We rejoice and give thanks to the Lord , for the salvation being experienced by Muslims in Iran and all over the world.
You Tube -the story of a younger brother of Ayatollah Khamenei, Mohsen Khamenei , tells his loss of faith in Islam, secret conversion to Christianity , torture in Evin Prison by order of his brother , The Ayatollah ,who should have had him executed for apostasy, but, had him exiled to Turkey from where Mohsen fled to live in secret in an undisclosed European town. Mohsen Kamenei continues telling his story of the evils of Islam and Iran to the world. Pray for Trump, the US fighters and for Israel to defeat Satanic Forces (IRGC, Hamas and Hezbollah-The Islamic Brotherhood ). This fight against Iran should have happened many years ago before they had uranium and underground factories of weapons deep inside mountains. Kings David and Solomon were sinners but God used them for his Divine Purpose. Trump and Netanyahu are fighting for the survival of the World against a Regime of Nutters which threatens the existance of all of us to live!
Quoted above “Iranian missionary Mohamad Faridi has told Westerners that a free Iran is worth the cost of a few extra dollars in petrol”.
Whilst this may be deemed over simplistic, the actions of Bibi and Trump have stopped 10’s of thousands being slaughtered by IRG soldiers, preceding the process of liberating millions of Christians in Iran to soon be free to share the gospel to millions more.
Moshen Khamenei, the brother of the Ayatollah, is 79 years old and lives in a secret location in Europe because he converted to Christianity. He suffered torture in Evin Prison, Tehran. The Iranians are fed up with Islam which is why they have destroyed mosques. I support Israel and the USA which are trying to free the World of the ,IRGC, a declared Terrorist Organisation, which has sleeper cells all over the World, including Australia. Latest news is EU is going to join the war.
I agree that it is a small price to pay for freedom, not just in Iran but in the Middle East and beyond where terrorism has ruled. I truly hope that the impact will be short-lived, but this war had to happen.
If anyone is to blame for the war effects on Australia it would be our governments (past and present) that have sold off our natural resources and not stood with Israel and America.
Appreciate your article Rod. Appreciate truth and reading of testimonies of oppressed and suffering people knowing Jesus. The cost of our salvation is incomparable to our inconveniences. It is true too that our governments have sold our resources leaving us bereft and dependent. Our God sees all the corruption, pride and prejudice, as well as the satanic oppression of people made in His image.
