Some Major Wins for Women

Some Major Wins for Women

The tide is starting to turn against the trans militants.

While Australia seems to keep going backwards when it comes to the rights of women, other nations are starting to head in the right direction. Various bits of legislation are being put forward, and some court rulings are appearing seeking to defend women and women-only spaces from men who think they are women. For example, last year, the UK Supreme Court defined women in terms of biological sex.

Trans activists have had a lot of runs on the board over recent years, but more recently, some jurisdictions have been fighting back. The wellbeing of women must be protected, and the whims of men must not take precedence. So it is encouraging to see some more victories here. Consider two such recent wins.

New Zealand

The New Zealand First party has put up a bill defending biological women from the trans activists. It has just passed its first reading. The Member’s Bill was presented by Jenny Marcroft. One news report says this about it:

Supporters of a bill seeking to legally define the terms “woman” and “man” say it is a matter of clarity, but opposition parties have described it as divisive and a “time warp”. The bill, in the name of New Zealand First MP Jenny Marcroft, passed its first reading in Parliament on Wednesday and will now go through the select committee process.

The Legislation (Definitions of Woman and Man) Amendment Bill would define “woman” in law as “an adult human biological female”, and “man” as “an adult human biological male”. Marcroft said what it meant to be a woman was “under attack,” and the bill would deliver clarity and consistency.

She referenced a landmark ruling by the United Kingdom’s Supreme Court last year, which found the term “woman” refers to “biological sex”. “New Zealanders should have confidence that their institutions, and the very language of their laws, reflect reality,” Marcroft said.

“Progressive politics” had prioritised ideology over biology, she said – and the change would prevent ideological interpretations from creeping into the law. “Women have had a gutsful of the gaslighting. It is misogyny in a modern form to cancel women when we speak up, it is misogyny in a modern form to deny our biological reality.” The legislation would not take away anyone’s rights, she said. Instead, it would ensure sex-based rights for women and girls.

The Rt Hon Winston Peters said this about it: “This bill is not about being anti-anyone or anti-anything. This is about ensuring that we as a country focus on the facts of biology and protect the term ‘woman’ in law.” He also said: “This Bill would ensure our country moves away from the woke ideology that has crept in over the last few years, undermining the protection, progression, and safety of women.”

Jill Ovens of the Women’s Rights Party said this about the situation:

On the day of the first reading in Parliament of NZ First MP Jenny Marcroft’s Private Member’s Bill to define sex in law in biological terms, on Wednesday 20 May, a new Curia poll has shown more New Zealand voters agree than disagree across all political parties.

Support from Left-leaning Party voters has shifted markedly from a poll conducted by Curia for Family First a year ago, between 30 April and 4 May 2025, and a poll conducted for Speak Up for Women – SUFW – between 14 and 19 May 2026, also by Curia.

It is hoped that the bill will go on to become law in New Zealand.

America

The US House just passed an anti-gender ideology bill connected to the funding of K-12 schools. As one news report says about this:

The GOP-controlled House passed a bill on Wednesday to block K-12 schools from using federal funds to teach what the Trump administration calls “gender ideology” without parental approval. Elementary and middle schools would be barred from using funds under the 1965 Elementary and Secondary Education Act to teach concepts defined by an executive order President Donald Trump signed in January 2025. The bill passed in a 217-198 vote with a handful of Democrats and one independent voting with Republicans.

That order takes aim at policies that replace “the biological category of sex with an ever-shifting concept of self-assessed gender identity, permitting the false claim that males can identify as and thus become women and vice versa, and requiring all institutions of society to regard this false claim as true.”

Another report said this:

Rep. Burgess Owens, who was a main co-sponsor of the bill, [said]: “There are only two sexes: male and female,” Owens said in a floor speech ahead of the vote. “Sex is a biological fact, not an ideological whim. Yet across the country, school districts are actively pushing radical gender ideology on children and, in some cases, facilitating social transitions without parental knowledge or consent.”

The Parental Rights Over the Education and Care of Their Kids Act, or the PROTECT Kids Act, would require any school that receives funding through the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 to adhere to the consent policies. It would extend that rule to whenever a student wants to change his or her gender marker, pronouns, or preferred name on any school form.

It would also include sex-based accommodations, which the bill said would apply to locker rooms or bathrooms. The restrictions would apply to both elementary and middle schools.

The bill still must head to the Senate for another vote.

We Must Defend Women

Since Sall Grover has been in the spotlight in Australia of late, especially given her court loss last week (see my write-up here), something she wrote in August of 2024 is worth closing with:

Do you want to know what the women called TERFs believe?

Buckle up. Here it is:

Women are adult human females.

Men are adult human males.

No man is a woman.

Woman, man, boy, girl, female, male are all sex based terms.

No human being has or can change sex.

Femininity and masculinity are socially created and imposed.

Being feminine is not a condition of being female.

Being masculine is not required to be male.

Men and boys can be feminine.

Women and girls can be masculine.

“Transwomen” are men.

Lesbians are women who are sexually attracted to other women.

Gay men are men sexually attracted to other men.

Legal sex just means a man has changed his identity documents to claim to be a woman.

Gender ideology is bullshit.

No child is born in the wrong body.

Puberty blockers and cross sex hormones are sterilisation of primarily homosexual or autistic youth.

“Trans” isn’t a coherent demographic of people.

“Trans” is a man made concept.

Safeguarding of women’s boundaries is important.

Safeguarding children is paramount.

Female spaces are necessary.

No males in female sport.

When we say female, we’re saying it to reference both women and girls. Otherwise, we’ll be specific about women or girls.

Nonbinary is the equivalent of emo or goth, it’s a phase and doesn’t deserve or warrant legislative validation.

Females are oppressed on the basis of being female, aka sex. Don’t believe us? Look to women in Afghanistan.

While males are also entitled to male only spaces, they’re very different in society and law to female spaces.

Women’s rights matter.

They sure do. Go Sall. Go NZ. Go USA.

The only way to end this absurdity is to leave the Leftist UN and its evil agendas. It would , also, save us the annual dues paid to the UN which could be put to better uses in Australia, plus we could dismantle useless bureaucracies which only exist because of Australia’s involvement with the UN—a WIN, WIN !
