The Australian Christian Lobby is hosting screenings of the groundbreaking documentary Born Alive, Left to Die across Australia.
As Christians, we are called to stand for justice and defend the vulnerable. Few issues demand our attention more urgently than the loss of over 90,000 unborn lives each year in Australia.
While every human life deserves protection, many Australians are shocked to learn that babies at a gestational age capable of surviving outside the womb can still be subjected to abortion. Even more confronting is the reality that some babies survive abortion procedures and are then denied life-saving care.
Culture Change Begins with Us
If we are to change our laws and culture, we must first be willing to confront the truth. Change begins with compassion. Compassion leads us to prayer. Prayer moves us to action.
That is why we are encouraging Christians across the country to watch Born Alive, Left to Die.
This powerful documentary exposes the reality of late-term abortion in Australia and the lives affected by practices few are willing to discuss. Through firsthand testimony and expert insight, it reveals what happens when babies survive abortion procedures, the trauma experienced by medical professionals and families, and the legal and political frameworks that allow these outcomes to continue largely unseen.
Many Australians remain unaware that children born alive following failed abortion procedures can be denied care and left to die. Born Alive, Left to Die seeks to bring these realities into the light and give voice to those who have been impacted.
We are praying that this documentary will awaken hearts, deepen compassion for the unborn, and inspire Christians to pray and act on behalf of Australia’s most vulnerable children.
Don’t look away.
New Evidence of Babies Born Alive after an Abortion from the NT
The evidence of harm is undeniable. As ACL NT Director Nicholas Lay writes, “The ACL has recently discovered evidence in the Northern Territory of five babies who have been born alive following a termination of pregnancy procedure and have been left to die.
“These five are an addition to Jessica Jane in 1998. Legal protections are in place for these children in New South Wales and South Australia, however the NT does not have any legal protections for these children.
“For almost two years, the Australian Christian Lobby has sought access to information about babies born alive following abortion procedures in the Northern Territory. While broader abortion statistics have been released publicly, the Department of Health has repeatedly refused to disclose this data, arguing it is too ‘sensitive’. The ACL has put in a complaint to the NT Information Commissioner in March 2025 against the Health Department. This matter has not yet been resolved.
“Despite NT Health’s reluctance, the ACL subsequently discovered the data in the Northern Territory Child Deaths Review and Prevention Committee (CDRPC) annual reports from 2012-2024. All these reports include in the appendix a ‘Table of underlying cause of child deaths by ICD-10 Chapters’. There is a cause of death listed as ‘Termination of pregnancy, affecting fetus and newborn’. The NT coroner has confirmed to ACL that these ‘numbers indicate a live born child died as a result of the termination and that it does not include stillborn children as a result of termination’.”
