72 Hours of Prayer, Praise and Worship Kicks Off

14 October 2022

The Canberra Declaration has been organising 72 Hours of Praise, Prayer & Worship to God for Revival in Australia. This campaign is launching today at midday and we would love to see you there.

You can join us any time you are able on Zoom from midday Friday, 14 October to midday Monday, 17 October 2022 (NSW Time). We’d love to see you for any amount of time that suits your schedule. Join us for the start at midday Friday if you are able.

We’re partnering with Tony Baines, who is coordinating a live, prayer, praise, worship and outreach event in Nimbin, NSW. We’ll have live reporting from Nimbin throughout the 72 Hours on Zoom.

As we noted in our last email, Nimbin was the birthplace of the New Age Aquarius Festival in 1973. While Nimbin is a small town, it has a huge spiritual significance. It has been a gateway point for demonic activity in our nation for decades.

If you haven’t seen it yet, watch Warwick Marsh explain the heart behind the 72 Hours in the video below.

You may ask what our Biblical foundation is for this initiative.

Acts 15:15-17 tells the story well. “And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written: ‘After this I will return and will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, And I will set it up; So that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, says the Lord who does all these things.’”

The reference to David’s Tabernacle was multi-layered. James was referring, firstly, to the fact that both Jews and Gentiles were welcome to dwell in God’s house together and find Salvation in Jesus.

Secondly, it was referring to a specific period in Israel’s history when for 40 years King David appointed people and musicians to worship and praise God — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, for 40 years. Most of the Psalms come out of this time of prophetic prayer and worship.

Our purpose for the 72 Hours of Prayer, Praise and Worship is four-fold:

  1. To worship Jesus and give extravagant praise to God. Hebrews 12:28-29
  2. Pray that the Lamb who was slain might receive the reward for His suffering. Revelation 5:6-14
  3. Pray for Revival for Australia and for millions to find Christ. Isaiah 64:1-2.
  4. Pray for a specific spiritual breakthrough in Nimbin and that souls would come to Christ. John 3:16

If you would like to join Tony Baines in Nimbin, you can phone him on 0418 752 841. Otherwise, we’d love to see you on Zoom any time you can for any amount of time that suits your schedule.

Our central prayer is for REVIVAL for Australia and people to come to Jesus and find salvation!
