Why Pray? Discover the Blessings That Prayer Brings to Us and To Our Nation
This Saturday, 18 May, is Australia’s National Day of Prayer (NDOP). But why pray? And what can we expect from this year’s NDOP?
Why would you want to spend six hours in prayer?
Previous participants in the National Day of Prayer (NDOP) held annually between 10 am and 4 pm (making six hours of prayer) have said:
“I did not think I could pray for that long.”
“The presence of God was so tangible.”
“The unity I felt with my brothers and sisters was so special.”
“We began to see answers to prayer even as we prayed.”
“My burden for the lost increased.”
“I came away uplifted.”
Why Pray?
Do you have a hunger for God?
Do you have a desire to be used by God?
Do you feel a concern for others?
If so, I encourage you to be involved in this year’s NDOP on Saturday 18 May.
You can come for a short time. Or you could come for the whole day. How long you stay is up to you. The main thing is to come and set time aside to pray with your brothers and sisters in Christ. Prayer changes things!

Jesus does not say, “If you pray”. He says, “When you pray”.
And Paul writes in Ephesians 6:18, “Pray in the Spirit on all occasions, with all kinds of prayers and requests.”
Please join us as we pray for our nation – Australia – the Great Southland of the Holy Spirit.
Pray for revival to come.
Let’s believe for a move of God.
Pray for the work and ministry of the church, that at such a time as this, the Church will rise up and take its place in our land.
Pray for prodigals to come home.
Pray for leaders of our nation.
The theme for this year’s NDOP is taken from Psalm 46: “Be still and know that I am God.”
If there was ever a time for us to be still, it is now. And out of that stillness to discover again that “He is God.”
There is so much darkness, noise, and confusion.
So join us for the NDOP as under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we find ourselves being still and knowing that He is God.
