Dr Andrew Lothian
Dr Andrew Lothian worked at the state and national levels in developing environmental policies including sustainability, climate change, environmental economics, environmental industry, Murray-Darling Basin environmental management, waste management and recycling, and natural resource management.
He gained a PhD in 2000 on Landscape Quality Assessment of South Australia. Since then as a consultant, Dr Lothian has completed 12 projects measuring and mapping scenic quality and/or assessing the visual impact of developments. In 2013, he was in the UK measuring and mapping the landscape quality of the Lake District. In 2017, he published The Science of Scenery, a 500-page book which describes the Community Preferences Method for measuring and mapping scenic quality.
