Stan Goodenough
Stan is an evangelical Gentile, a South African national and a permanent resident of the State of Israel where he has lived for 38 years.
From 1991 to 1998, he served on the staff of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ) as a political reporter and commentator. He edited the pre-Internet Middle East Intelligence Digest, and helped launch the ICEJ's online news service. His primary focus was placing national, regional and global events that impact Israel into the context of the nation's restoration as a political entity that precedes the coming of God's kingdom on earth.
In Stan's words, the battle over the Land of Israel – or more accurately, the battle over who is God – and the international community's position towards Israel and the Jewish people, hold his constant attention.
After 20 years of news writing, Stan studied to become an accredited tour guide in 2010.
Since 2014, Stan has had a special place in his heart for Australia. He has visited the country 10 times since then, flying countrywide to share his belief in how Christians should relate to, and be involved with, God's unfolding purposes with Israel.
Stan is married to Francesca, a Czech Christian. The couple have seven Jerusalem-born children, three of whom are married, and two grandchildren. Two sons and a daughter served in the IDF and are citizens. The rest of the family are permanent residents of the Jewish state.
