COVID19 Call to Prayer – June 22: Within Your Temple
Within Your temple, O God, we meditate on Your unfailing love.
Like Your name, O God, Your praise reaches to the ends of the earth;
Your right hand is filled with righteousness.
~ Psalm 48:9-10
God’s temple in the New Testament is His people.
It is good for us to be together with the Lord’s people and to meditate on His unfailing love.
We are there to praise God, not ourselves. We exult in His righteousness, not our own.
“He that is much in Heaven with his thoughts
is free from being tossed with tempests here below.”
~ Sibbes

A Prayer of Repentance:
Our Father in Heaven, we acknowledge that we have too often
sought refuge and strength in other things.
Help us to know that You are our only fortress.
Enable us to meditate on Your unfailing love. Amen.
A Prayer of Thanksgiving:
1 Great is the LORD, and most worthy of praise,
in the city of our God, His holy mountain.
2 Beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth,
like the heights of Zaphon is Mount Zion, the city of the Great King.
3 God is in her citadels; He has shown Himself to be her fortress.
~ Psalm 48:1-3
