It is time for us to listen to the voice of God, the just judge, and to take action on behalf of the defenceless.
“All rise! For God now comes to judge as he convenes heaven’s courtroom. He judges every judge and rules over every ruler, saying, “How long will you judges refuse to listen to the voice of true justice and continue to corrupt what is right by judging in favour of the wrong?” Pause in his presence.
“Defend the defenceless, the fatherless and the forgotten, the disenfranchised and the destitute. Your duty is to deliver the poor and the powerless; liberate them from the grasp of the wicked. But you continue in your darkness and ignorance while the foundations of society are shaken to the core! Didn’t I commission you as judges, saying, ‘You are all like gods, since you judge on my behalf. You are all like sons of the Most High, my representatives.’ Nevertheless, in death you are nothing but mere men! You will be laid in the ground like any prince and you will die.” All rise! For God now takes his place as judge of all the earth. Don’t you know that everything and everyone belongs to him? The nations will be sifted in his hands!”
Reflection The Lord is asking those who have been given authority to judge and rule, to listen to the voice of true justice. We as His church and all who are given authority are required by the Lord to defend, liberate and represent His Justice.
May we join the Lord in praying Psalm 82:1-8 (above) that we have true justice for the defenceless babies in the womb and the elderly and suffering ones. They are excluded from justice in the abortion and euthanasia bills and from the place the Lord has given them—to live their lives on the earth—given full worth and value because we are all made in His image.
We are to intercede and take action, for “righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face.” (Psalm 89:14).
The Lord is calling the church and leaders of our nation to listen to His voice of true justice and to defend the defenceless and to not allow this bloodshed to continue. It has now been over 50 years since abortion was made legal in Australia. Together, as one, let us agree with heaven that all lives matter—they are given by the Lord and we must stand up now as the church to pray, speak up and take action.
Prayer Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of life! We stand in agreement with Your Word and pray for true justice in Australia. We humble ourselves and pray, we confess the sins of our nation in our partnering with death. Thank you for the blood of Jesus powerfully crying “Mercy!” over our land. We ask that you, Lord, to hold to account those who are pushing for the destruction of lives. Establish leaders and a justice system for life, especially for the unborn and the defenceless.
We thank you that everything that is being twisted and lied about, everything moving swiftly in our nation for the destruction of human life, is coming under Your mighty sword (Isaiah 27:1).
May those who love You keep watch, pray, take action and speak courageously the truth about the impact of abortion and euthanasia. Lord, may the power of Your justice flow through Your people with wisdom, to speak with all those who have been given positions to govern who make decisions for life in our nation.
We speak to the mountains hindering justice in the upcoming elections in QLD, ACT, USA and NZ, the Termination of Pregnancy (Abortion to birth) Bill in South Australia, and euthanasia bills. We declare you be cast into the sea and be no more! Lord, let Your truth and light guide Australia to her true destiny! In Jesus’ powerful and redeeming name, Amen.
