Tasmanian media outlets have been told:
Concerned citizens are taking the fight up to those who want to make it legal for doctors to directly kill patients and to legalise assisted suicides in which doctors prescribe poison for patients to take to kill themselves in doctor prescribed assisted suicides.
The bill’s foes have formed a new group, Saving Patients Lives. “We will tell the truth about this deceptive and dishonest Euthanasia Bill to MPs and to the public. The true aim of the bill is to legalise patient killing by doctors and to legalise doctor-prescribed assisted suicides,” says Saving Patients Lives spokesperson Eugene Ahern.
Eugene Ahern continues,
“The bill’s promoters have hidden their true aim of their Bill to Kill behind a screen of meaningless euphemisms! Just look at the bill’s title, End-Of-Life Choices (Voluntary Assisted Dying) Bill, which they invented to deceive we the people.
“When I first hear this title I thought their End-Of-Life Choices Bill may be about where patients may choose as to where they may choose to die. It could be about dying at home or in a medical facility. But when I asked a nurse about this, I realised I had got that wrong.
Then I asked if the words, Voluntary Assisted Dying, meant it was a bill to set up a volunteer system of helpers to be with those dying without family? She said I was wrong again. I was horrified when she explained to me that the bill aimed to make it legal for doctors to kill patients and for doctors to prescribe poison for patients to take to kill themselves in doctor-prescribed assisted suicides.
“Paul Keating has written strongly opposing euthanasia. He began by exposing the strategy of the euthanasia advocates to hide what they are pushing. In a powerful essay he wrote,
‘One of the inevitable aspects of debates about euthanasia is the reluctance on the part of advocates to confront the essence of what they propose. In this case it means permitting physicians to intentionally kill patients or assisting patients in killing themselves.’
“We, in Saving Patients Lives, will make it crystal clear to the Tasmanian public and the Members of
the House of Assembly that this euthanasia bill is all about killing patients or assisting them to kill themselves in doctor-prescribed assisted suicides.
“Once we are all clear that this euthanasia bill is all about killing patients and assisting patients to suicide, we will confront those promoting this bill ‘head on’ and ‘eyeball to eyeball’, and challenge these enemies of life and expose their perverted immorality which results in this anti-life bill.
“Our campaign, Saving Patients’ Lives, is built on a rock-solid principle, which is foundational to any civilised society, namely the protection of all human life without any exception. The principle stated by Thomas Jefferson, ‘The first duty of good government is the protection of human life.’
“Paul Keating stresses that in life it is principles such as this, which matter.
Faithful to that principle on which our ethics are built, we state, “We don’t kill people” and we will fight relentlessly to defeat the promoters of this horrendous and outrageous ‘Bill to Kill’.”
Our first public act to defeat this “Bill to Kill” will be our

When a woman who'd written a bestseller for women called to ask for help reaching men, my first instinct was caution. But Dawn Williams is offering men something powerful, and her upcoming book, "The Rebuilt Man", will help men rediscover the man they were created to be.

Life should take its course as designed by God. Life came from God and should be left in the hands of the creator.
I am horrified by this proposed bill. Doctors use to take an oath to do their best to save a life not to take a life of a patient.
I wonder if there will be an implications for doctors who refuses to kill their patient. It opens up many questions about safeguard for a patient’s life and medical doctors.
