Days of Holiness ~ Day 21: Run Towards Holiness

21 January 2021

4.2 MINS

“So be made strong even in your weakness
by lifting up your tired hands in prayer and worship.
And strengthen your weak knees,
for as you keep walking forward on God’s paths
all your stumbling ways will be divinely healed!
In every relationship be swift to choose peace over competition,
and run swiftly toward holiness,
for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.
Watch over each other to make sure
that no-one misses the revelation of God’s grace.
And make sure no-one lives with a root of bitterness
sprouting within them which will only cause trouble
and poison the hearts of many.”
~ Hebrews 12:12-15 (TPT)

In these 37 Days of Holiness, we discover over and over in scripture that the Lord has provided clear instruction for us to be holy and to remain holy. The writer of Hebrews acknowledged we may have tired hands and weak knees, yet as we continue to pray and worship, we are made strong. We are to keep walking forward on God’s paths, and as we do, we discover there is divine healing for our stumbling ways.

We are instructed on how to handle all relationships — firstly, to choose peace over competition: it means to pursue peace — to work for it, seek peace and strive to have it. We are also to run swiftly towards holiness, with a warning that those who are not holy will not see the Lord. Jesus said in Matthew 5:8 ~ “Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.” (NKJV), and the Expanded Bible includes “whose thoughts are pure, for they will see God.

It is important when we recognise we have stumbled from God’s holy path onto ways that are divisive and unholy — we must seek to be quick to repent and turn to God’s ways again. God is looking for His people to live a lifestyle of being swift to choose peace over competition with others, and swift to run toward holiness so we gain the victory, and wholeness, of His Shalom.

Then, together in oneness, we can destroy the authority that binds our nation to chaos — our nation restored! The Lord is looking at the intentions of our hearts and is able to move through those who are swift to recognise and repent of sin and to seek peace and pursue it — then the enemy can find no foothold to weaken the effectiveness of our prayers. Holiness is a key for us, as His holy nation, going forward on His path and receiving the grace to overcome in this battle for the unborn in Australia.

Let us Pray:
Gracious Father, we bless Your Holy Name and magnify You today. We humble ourselves and ask that You give us the grace we need to recognise anything in us that is opposing Your Shalom in our lives and those of Your people. We ask that, if there be any root of bitterness, that You will convict us and cause us to swiftly run towards holiness.

Lord, give Your people and multitudes in our nation a hunger and thirst for righteousness that results in us being Your Holy Nation. Lord, may we seek and pursue peace — Your Shalom for everyone — those who deserve it and those who don’t. Lord, increase Your strength in the places of our weakness, and help us to lift our tired hands in prayer, and worship You in the beauty of holiness.

Lord, where there is division over the right to life for the unborn, give Your church authority and power to defeat chaos — especially in the form of legalised abortion and the destruction of lives. We bless the Walk for Life and all the churches standing for life in South Australia, to see the defeat of the Termination of Pregnancy Bill 2020. We pray in the powerful Name of Yeshua, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Abundant grace to you as we continue in prayer and fasting according to Mark 9:29 ~

He answered them, “This type of powerful spirit can only be cast out by fasting and prayer.”

Points for Prayer ~ pray for:

  • South Australia’s Lower House politicians, that they be infused with truth and light for the sanctity of life – even of the unborn. Pray for a majority to vote no to this bill and take courage to defeat the Termination of Pregnancy Bill 2020 the week of Feb 3rd 2021.
  • The Walk for Life, February 6th 2021 in Adelaide, South Australia.
  • For our future generations to be rescued from the horror of death through abortion!
Let the spirit of adoption enter the hearts of those considering abortion,
to carry to full term and save their child’s life.
  • For greater numbers of believers in Jesus all over Australia and the South Pacific region to awaken to the battle and stand for life — to rise up in wisdom and courage to take action needed and speak for the voiceless.
  • For the church to become a haven of hope and help for those with unplanned pregnancies.

To send the intended influential message to our politicians
that South Australians DO NOT want legalised abortion up to birth,
we need thousands of people on the WALK for LIFE!

It will take each of us to SPREAD THE WORD through all our networks!
