‘Dear Hon. Scott Morrison, Please No Vaccine Mandates’: Read and Sign The Ezekiel Declaration
In a very short space of time, many Australian citizens have woken up to a very sobering choice: lose my medical autonomy, or lose my career. For some, a job loss will also mean the inability to continue supporting families or making mortgage repayments.
Vaccine mandates will also likely begin to affect places of worship, preventing people from taking part in corporate worship if they decide not to be vaccinated — whether for medical, religious or conscience reasons.
In response to this situation, Christian leaders from around Australia have drafted the Ezekiel Declaration — an 1800-word letter addressed to Prime Minister Scott Morrison about this issue. The drafters appeal to the PM’s Christian conscience, respectfully asking him to reconsider his stance on allowing vaccine mandates to govern the everyday lives of Australians.
The Ezekiel Declaration begins:
To the Honourable Scott Morrison,
As Christian leaders, you should be aware that in accordance with scripture we regularly pray for “and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way” (1 Timothy 2:2).
We do write however, to you regarding a matter of significant concern. Namely, the proposed introduction of ‘vaccine passports’ into Australian society. For many Christian leaders and Christians, this is an untenable proposal that would inflict terrible consequences on our nation.
We should initially note that we are not the first generation that has been confronted with the question of ‘vaccine passports.’ Writing in 1880, aware of the challenges that a smallpox epidemic brought to society, the Christian theologian Abraham Kuyper wrote,
“Vaccination certificates will therefore have to go… The form of tyranny hidden in these vaccination certificates is just as real a threat to the nation’s spiritual resources as a smallpox epidemic itself.”

Between 1901 and 1905, Abraham Kuyper would hold the office of the prime minister of the Netherlands. He evidently understood that a ‘vaccine passport’ would represent a measure that was equal to if not worse than an epidemic itself through the oppressive control over people’s lives. As Christian ministers, we would also agree with Kuyper’s analysis on such a measure, and for several reasons.
First, the government risks creating an unethical two-tiered society. While some individuals will receive the vaccination with thanks, others may have good and informed reasons for declining. One such reason is highlighted in the statement of the health minister Greg Hunt,
“The world is engaged in the largest clinical trial, the largest global vaccination trial ever, and we will have enormous amounts of data.”

Free citizens should have the right of consent, especially when the vaccine rollout has been labelled as a ‘clinical trial.’ Imposing a ‘vaccine passport’ when the nation is already divided on the matter risks the creation of medical apartheid. The result being that those who decline the vaccine are ostracised and alienated from aspects of public life. History has never reflected well for those who would promote segregation. As there has been no discussion that the precautionary measures will be retracted once the pandemic has concluded, there is a real concern that many of these measures will remain permanent. A ‘vaccine passport’ would therefore represent the dangerous precipice of a therapeutic totalitarianism that does not promote liberty and human flourishing, but would rather only dehumanise and control its citizens all under the cloak of personal health and safety.

I believe that vaccine passports are a form of discrimination and shouldn’t be mandated, I’m not anti vaccination, I’ve had one shot of AZ and did not just for me but for family and others.

Am strongly apposed to any mandate re vaccine passports . I would like to know if one can be punished for choosing to not to be vaccinated with a jab that is only experiential and the covid virus has not been isolated and we have no idea of long term effects.

As a Christian I totally agree with this Ezekiel Declaration. Legalizing vaccine passports can only bring further division & destruction to our democratic society & goes against every Christian belief of what Jesus accomplished on the Cross for humanity.

I thoroughly agree. My daughter is a teacher and absolutely does not want any of these so called “vaccines” as they are risky and have many known and as yet unknown long term side affects. Yet she is being forced into having one just to earn a living, which I feel is totally wrong. It takes away freedom of choice. She is willing to take a test every few days if that was necessary to prove she is Covid free it even this option is being denied.
I totally agree that these so called “vaccinations” should not be forced on anyone. It should be a matter of choice. My daughter is a teacher, does not want to have any of these injections yet is being forced into it just to keep her job and earn a loving. This is very wrong, we are supposed to be a free country and this is over the top control.

I do agree with your letter and the need for Scott Morrison to stand against a national vaccine passport. I’m the 3rd generation removed from Hitlers regime, were many similar laws were passed to segregate a nationality, based on birth. My dutch grandparents hid 8 Jews during the war and risked there lives and that of their children, including my father, because of their faith and belief that every race and creed should be free.
They all survived with several miraculous interventions during the 4 years that these people were hidden on their farm.
They also rescued a pilot that parachuted into their farm paddocks and were recognised by Eisenhower for their bravery. I’m alive today because of their faith in Jesus and I want to see my grandchildren live with the same freedoms I have experienced all my life. I am against having the vaccine because of the unknown long term consequences of this vaccine which is still in trial. I do not consent to being a part of this trial.

I’m writing not just for me, my family and friends. Today my colleague was to make a choice to be vaccinated or not return to work by 30th August 2021. Her stress and tears would break anyone’s heart. She like many others whom has worked her whole life as carer. She has served her country and should be allowed to continue to work regardless of her thoughts on the vaccine. I’m disgusted many others have no voice, no choice. I believe this vaccine program is God’s provision against this insidious plague, released deliberately or accidentally by evil men with evil intent (and I’m not talking about the leaders of our nation). I’m a long time Christian. I cant recall any scripture which says anything like not accepting a vaccine to prevent serious illness.
When the People of Israel called Gods provision of the manna in the wilderness “this worthless food” (Numbers 21:5) and otherwise got a bit rebellious, He sorted them out by sending a plague of poisonous snakes amongst them, and some died of the bites. . The people soon realised where they had gone wrong, asked Moses to intervene with God, and the brass serpent on a pole was the result. Anyone bitten by one of these snakes only had to have the faith to just look at this symbol on the pole, and that person lived. (Num 21:9).
Wonder if there were some people who said “Look at a brass snake and I wont die of snakebite? No way I’m gonna be that gullible! ” Wonder what happened to them? (Rhetorical question……obviously, if they chose not to look, they died).

COVID vax only keeps its emergency status because our Doctors have been banned from providing life saving safe treatment at the first sign of illness. The Doctors are threatened with massive fines and reprimand by AMA if they write a script for lifesaving treatments. I am not anti-vax, my children have been immunised voluntarily not for fear of missing out on Family allowance. Having a 30+ year career in healthcare please use some critical thinking. The paper used to validate the government’s stance was called out as outrageous and the LANCET was forced to withdraw it.
I have received both jabs of AZ – as a nurse & a Christian I believed I was doing the right thing! Like many people, due to COVID restrictions, I havn’t seen my immediate family members for over 2 months! When I’m hearing about these Passports I’m fearing the negative repercussions that this could prevent me from being able to see my family again!! This is not freedom!! What’s happening to our Democratic country?!

My husband and I will soon loose our jobs unless we take the vaccine. Not only will we still be the exact same risk to society (who are not supposed to be at risk because they’re vaccinated), but we will then be needing Centrelink support survive which will cost the government tens of thousands per year for our large family. For the Premier of NSW to say “its your choice not to take it but we’ll exclude you from society” is just heartbreakingly calaus. Its not as simple as people just not wanting it. Some people have strong convictions that prevent them. The same convictions that make them the generous, law abiding, caring beautiful people that society so much relies on. Freedom on speech has long gone and now another essential freedom is so quickly being stolen from us. When debates about anything are suppressed, you have to query the intentions of those who make a push for something to be administered. Even more so when your choice is being strangled to the extent of “ you either or nothing “.
Those who have been keeping their distance, masking in crowded areas and keeping hygienic regulations with hands and any surface by which COVID can be transmitted are as responsible people as those who are vaccinated and keeping to those regulations even better than those who are vaccinated but think that they are now invincible and complacent about taking preventative measures in the company of others.

In the next few weeks, many churches in NSW will be coming out with guidance as to whether they intend to divide their congregations into vaccinated / unvaccinated cohorts, or worse yet, simply disallow unvaccinated people to participate in physical gatherings. This is a time when church leaders will begin to show whether they are true shepherds or just “hired hands” (John 10:11-13).
If your local church does indeed intend to restrict unvaccinated people from gathering in person for worship in anyway, please reply to my message with (1) the name of your church and (2) the names of key leaders / pastors.
I will be collating a published list of all churches and their respective leaders who fail to exercise strength, courage and spiritual authority against the State who is overstepping their bounds in these times.
