21 Days of Hope for the Unborn – Day 3: Weep for Your Children
Massive crowds gathered to follow Jesus,
including a number of women,
who were wailing with sorrow over Him.
Jesus turned to them and said,
“Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me.
You should be weeping for yourselves and your children.
The day is coming when it will not be the women with children who are blessed
but those who are childless.
Then you will say, ‘The barren women are the most fortunate!
Those who have never given birth and never nursed a child—
they are more fortunate than we,
for they will never see their children put to death!’
~ Luke 23:27-29 (TPT)
On the way to the cross, Jesus interacted with the wailing women who were sorrowing over the wounds and afflictions He had already suffered, and now that He was being led to His crucifixion. Jesus’ heart of pure love was revealed again, as He went to the cross instructing them to weep over themselves, knowing they will one day see their children put to death.
It is still Jesus’s deep love calling us to obey His instruction to weep — may we enter into deep intercession travailing and weeping over the babies being put to death by legalised abortion. We also weep for our society, women and men who have come under the heavy weight of the burden of what they have agreed to — abortion — Australia’s children put to death.
Today Jesus says, “You should be weeping for yourselves!” knowing fully the consequences of the innocent being killed — the babies being aborted in our days. The Lord Himself is in this intercession with us and for us.
“I have held My peace a long time,
I have been still and restrained Myself.
Now I will cry like a woman in labour,
I will pant and gasp at once.”
~ Isaiah 42:14
“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.
For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought,
but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us
with groanings which cannot be uttered.”
~ Romans 8:26 (NKJV)
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Holy is Your Name, Holy is Your Son Jesus; thank You for Your forgiveness and mercy! Thank You, that filled with the Holy Spirit on the way to Your crucifixion, Jesus, You gave us the instruction to weep over ourselves because we would see multitudes of our children put to death.
We confess many hearts in our nation, even of Your people, have become cold, and consciences seared concerning legalised abortion in Australia. Lord, we have not always wept as You told us. Lord, awaken the wailing women and the men in deep travail and intercessory prayer that touch Your heart of mercy and love for the children being put to death in our days.
Lord, release a spirit of repentance and prevailing prayer that aligns with Your heart of passion for every unborn child to be blessed to fulfil their days allotted by You. Thank You that we are not alone in this intercession, but You, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, are interceding on behalf of us and our children. We pray in the redeeming Name of Jesus Christ, Yeshua. Amen.
Worship:
Holy Communion:
Thank God that Jesus Christ, Yeshua’s blood has atoned for every sin!
Ask for His body, His Bride to be whole, spotless and blameless in all her ways.
Acts of Repentance:
Ask the Lord to show any place we need to realign our hearts and minds to His heart of love and compassion for children yet to be born in Australia. Ask for a spirit of travail from His compassionate heart to flow through us in intercession today!
Prayer Points:
- Join our prayers with the USA in the battle to overturn Roe v. Wade — There is an abortion case (Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization) presently being considered by the nine US Supreme Court Judges which could overturn the famous abortion case Roe v. Wade (1973) which opened up abortion on demand in the USA for almost 50 years. This has resulted in the loss of life to over 62,000,000 babies in the USA. The verdict of the case is expected to be known in June 2022. If Roe v. Wade (1973) is overturned, or invalidated, it is expected that around half the states in the USA will move to make abortion illegal in their states. It is thought six out of the nine judges now have pro-life values.
- Pray that the Love Adelaide — Walk for Life 2022 on Feb 12th 10am-12pm will grow in momentum from the 5,000 last year — that nothing will hinder the church standing against legalised abortion, adding their strength and support to end the abortion crisis in our nation and beyond. Pray for more volunteers for the walk and for the weather to be favourable.
- Ask for the Babies Born Alive (Human Rights — Children Born Alive Protection Bill 2021) tabled in the Australian Federal Parliament to have favour, that it be allowed to go for a vote and be passed in this term of government with no more delay — so that in every state and territory in Australia, babies born alive after a failed abortion will receive proper medical care and legal protection.
- That people of South Australia will vote according to Life in the upcoming State Parliament elections. May they no longer support the politicians who voted for aborting viable babies even to full term, blocked vital lifesaving amendments and forbade all prayer and offers of help within 150 m of any place where abortions occur (including all major public hospitals).
- That many women and men will take up the call to be on the frontline in the fight for Life for the Unborn by joining a political party and running for office.
May God Bless you. Thank you for being a part of 21 Days of Hope for the Unborn.
‘And let us not grow weary while doing good,
for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.’
~ Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)
