Renewal: The National Day of Prayer & Fasting 2022
The National Day of Prayer & Fasting will be held on Saturday 26th February 2022. The theme for 2022 is “PURITY IN CHRIST.”
The scriptural theme is found in Psalms 51:10,
“Create in me a pure heart O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
There is great power in unified prayer. Psalm 133 says,
“When brethren dwell together in unity…
there the Lord commands a blessing even life for evermore.”
This year, in light of last year’s success, the National Day of Prayer & Fasting team has asked Indigenous Christian Leaders to help lead the day again.
This decision was also inspired by the success of Ps Peter Walker’s very historic Indigenous-led National Solemn Assembly on 26-27 September 2020. Watch Day One here, and Day Two here.
We invite you to join us on the National Zoom Prayer Call anytime between 9AM – 6PM (AEDT) Saturday 26 February 2022, or organise your own local combined church celebration in your area as your COVID regulations allow.
In particular, we invite you to take part in the Official Prayer Service from 2PM – 3:30PM (AEDT) as part of the National Zoom Prayer Call, in which we will have prayers and input from Key National leaders and Church leaders.
40 Stories
This group has released a further series of inspiring stories, available online or as DVDs to purchase: https://www.40stories.org.au/
“We began in 2015 by filming 40 inspiring stories of Indigenous Australians and their experiences with Jesus, and we are continuing with an ongoing flow of short films from all over the world.
Stories touch us personally and speak to our hearts. They invite us to curiosity, to see things differently and to imagine what change might look like, in us and in the world. Ordinary people have extraordinary stories, especially when Jesus’ love changes their lives.”
Worship from the land
A group of us have been meeting on zoom for over six months to hear what God is saying to us today, particularly over the transformation of our nation and the role of indigenous Christians. It also involves worship, and what God put in the land/dirt when He created it: the sounds, movement, vision of its relationship to our Creator God.
The whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth.
~ Romans 8:22
Here is a 69-minute YouTube session of three prophetic worshippers sharing and teaching — Joshua Halls, Roma Waterman and Charlotte Marandawela. Releasing the Song Prophets (Sept 2021). It is well worth the time to listen to what God is saying today:
How are we to pray and act so that God can bring about restoration in His created world?
The earth will be filled with the knowledge
of the GLORY of the LORD
as the waters cover the sea.
~ Habakkuk 2:14…that He might present the church to Himself
in splendour, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing,
that she might be holy and without blemish.
~ Ephesians 5:27-28
