Pray for a ‘Damascus Road’ experience for Vladimir Putin
Pray for Vladimir Putin to have a true conversion to Christ.
My wife June and I were talking and praying early Sunday morning after June read this article about Russia, its President and Ukraine.
I felt the Lord say He wants to give Vladimir Putin an encounter with Jesus Christ like Saul had on the Damascus Road, that totally transformed him into Paul in the New Testament.
Zealot
We see Vladimir Putin as a religious, political zealot. Like Saul, he is totally on the wrong path and needs a revolutionary repentance. Colin Battersby commented on this, saying he is a: “toxic mix of nationalism, religious ideology and the unrelenting pursuit of identity.”
God’s global purposes are being challenged by spiritual powers of the rulers of this world through the events in eastern Europe today. Leaders in the west are being seen as “polite cowards”. Stan Grant commented:
“Democracy, however imperfect, has a moral purpose that authoritarianism not only lacks but fears. Right now American resolve is crucial. And yet we can see the sunset of the American century.”
We believe it is on the heart of God to bring radical transformation in the world today.
