Precious Blood

Nothing But the Blood of Jesus

15 April 2022

7.2 MINS

As we commemorate the suffering and death of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who sacrificed Himself for our sake to redeem us from sin and draw us into eternal life, let us invoke His Precious Blood upon us and our children, knowing that the Blood of Christ, the Lamb of God, grants us everlasting salvation.

Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!

A unique Passover season is upon us, as the Biblical Feast of the Passover and Good Friday fall on the same day of April 15th 2022. The Hebrew calendar marks the fourteenth day of the first month, the 15th of Nisan 5782, as the Feast of the Passover.

Leviticus 23:4-5 declares,

These are the set Feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations,
which you shall proclaim in their appointed season.
In the first month,on the fourteenth day of the month
in the evening is the LORD’S Passover.

Also known as Pesach in Hebrew, it commemorates the night when the Blood of the spotless lamb was applied on the doorposts of all Israelites and the angel of death “passed over”, sparing them from the plague of the death of the firstborn son in Egypt. This judgement of God on Egypt led to the exodus of the Israelites from their slavery in Egypt.

The Perfect Sacrifice

On Good Friday, much of the Body of Christ in all of Christendom remember the sinless Son of God who became the perfect sacrifice to appease the wrath of God by His death on the cross. He was condemned to death as a criminal, mocked, crowned with a crown of thorns, whipped forty lashes with a flagellum that tore his body, was made to carry a heavy rugged wooden cross, bleeding, along the Via Dolarosa (Way of Sorrow) to Golgotha.

His outstretched hands and feet were nailed to the cross. In excruciating pain searing through His broken bleeding wounded body, and the agony under the sins of the world that separated Him from His Father, the Son of God and the Son of Man became the perfect Lamb that was crucified for the sins of the world. His Blood that was shed paid the price to ransom every sinner from the bondage and captivity of sin, iniquities and transgressions, who would believe in His death and resurrection.

The message of salvation is eminent in Romans 10:9 —

If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord,
and believe in your heart that God has raised Him
from the dead, you will be saved.

Rick Ridings has done a prayer conference and teaching on this coming convergence of the Feast of Passover and Good Friday. (See section from 55 mins onward.)

It is truly marvellous how both the believing Jew and Gentile will remember and thank God, Who provided the precious Blood and broken Body of the spotless Lamb that continues to be the only atonement for sin and salvation, on the same day!

The Power of the Blood of Jesus

A powerful baptism of the Holy Spirit led me to several encounters with the Blood of Jesus. Once baptised, we are marked with the seal of the Holy Spirit and thereby known by the adversary, the devil, as born of God. The Holy Spirit introduced me to the Power of the Blood of Jesus — for we overcome the devil by the Blood of the Lamb and the testimony of our words.

Gwen Shawn’s booklet The Power of the Precious Blood prepared me for the test I was about to experience. A friend was to bring my three-year-old son and me to visit a Christian library in Sydney. While I was slipping my son’s left arm through his shirt sleeve, he suddenly became limp and collapsed. I held him up only to see his eyes rolling and his lips go blue. I had never faced anything like this before.

Instantly I remembered the words that Gwen Shaw screamed out in a similar life-threatening emergency: “I plead the Blood of Jesus!” I pleaded the blood of Jesus upon my child. As we kept the decree on, my son threw up and sat upright, completely normal. In bewilderment, he asked what had happened.

Speaking about the incident revealed that he had seen a black figure enter the house. My friend discerned that it was the angel of death; my son was a firstborn. There have been other encounters since then where we overcame by the Blood of the Lamb and the testimony of our words.

There is power and protection in the blood of Jesus. This is one hedge that the enemy will not cross. Therefore we as believers should appropriate it intentionally every day over our lives, homes, family, children, marriage, relationships, finances and all our possessions. Decree this prayer every day, as this video recommends:

The sprinkled blood of Jesus at the mercy seat is speaking a better Word than Abel’s. Abel’s blood was crying out for vengeance, but the blood of Jesus speaks forgiveness and redemption.

… and to Jesus, the mediator of the new covenant;
and to the sprinkled blood that speaks better than that of Abel.
~ Hebrews 12:24

Communion — A Personal Invitation to the Lord’s Table

The precious blood of Jesus is indescribable. It is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent in Christ. The invitation to share in the body and the blood of Jesus is the privilege of every believer in Jesus Christ.

This sacrament is introduced in the Eucharist of most denominations of the Christian faith. Today, there are many believers in all denominations who have encountered the Christ of the Eucharist at His table in a very personal way.

My own journey started on a day when I was with a heavy heart and hope deferred. I heard the voice of the Lord to get some communion elements. As sheep that know His voice, I obeyed and sat at my table. My eyes did not see Him, but I discerned His presence as HE was there.

Between tears of complaints and confession of all my unworthiness, I had my first communion with the Lord. A barrier was broken, and a new intimacy of sharing Jesus and His body and blood just as He did with His disciples became a reality.

Like onion peels, the Lord started to unravel my soul: the wounds, the hidden faults, the sins — and the restoration. Like the disciples whose hearts were burning as they shared communion with Jesus on the road to Emmaus and knew Him, there is an intimate knowledge of the Lamb of God Whose broken body and blood alone can wash away the stain, memory and devastation of sin, and bring us into freedom and wholeness. This intimacy over the last 18 years has become a very important part of my prayer life and worship and now my family’s too.

As an answer to prayer, much of the body of Christ is coming into the revelation of communion individually and corporately as the early apostolic church did in Acts 2:46 —

“And continuing daily with one mind in the temple
and breaking bread from house to house,
they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart.”

A few days ago, I had a night vision of the Globe in its spin. There was a bold banner in white declaring John 1:29 — “Behold the Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the World.

There was a loud voice that was proclaiming from the heavens to the earth. There is a revelation of beholding the Lamb of God, Who was slain, in heaven as on the earth. (Revelation 5:6-9) The eyes of nations, tribes and tongues will be opened to behold the Lamb of God Who died, rose again, and is alive, Who is seated on the throne as the King of Kings.

There is a revelation of His atoning Blood that takes away the sins of the world like never before. A coming in union, communion as one body in His body and blood of the new covenant for the remission of the sins of many. A readiness and preparation for the marriage supper of the Lamb.

A revelation of the redemption of mankind by “Nothing but the Blood of Jesus.” Even to Israel, an awakening to behold the Lamb of God, so that they may cry out “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!

Below is a video of an amazing journey of revelation on communion with Lou Engle and Dean Briggs, with Yeshua and His invitation to the table of His Body and Blood. May this be an amazing Passover Feast for all of us, with the Lamb of God, our atonement and redeemer kinsman and King of Glory!

Prayer:

  • Father, we acknowledge You are bringing a convergence of Your appointed feasts and the unity of the body of Christ towards the fullness of time, in the fullness of the stature of Christ. We behold the Lamb of God that was slain for us.
  • Father, we receive Your spirit of wisdom and revelation, that our eyes of understanding are enlightened in the knowledge of Your son Jesus Christ and His broken Body and Blood.
We ask for our children and their children to walk in obedience to this cup of the new and better covenant.
  • Father, we appropriate the blood of Jesus upon the doorposts of our hearts, our lives, families, churches, the ekklesia and over our nation, cities and borders, over all people, groups and cultures and receive Your hedge of protection.
  • Father, we as Your people humble ourselves and confess our sins and repent of our wicked ways. Father, we have sinned before You in thoughts and deeds, and gone astray in our hearts. Forgive us our iniquities, sins and transgressions by the precious Body and Blood of Jesus.
  • Father, as a nation we have sinned with unrighteous wicked laws that shed innocent blood and break covenant with You in marriage. Father, as we stand in the gap as Moses and Phineas did in Numbers 14:19, “Pardon the iniquity of this nation and peoples, we pray according to the greatness of Your grace, just as You have pardoned this people, from Egypt until now.” Let there be no more devastation of floods, disease and sickness of Covid-19 or any other plagues of Your judgements. Lord have mercy. Christ, have mercy on us all.
  • Father, as we celebrate Your Feast of Passover and Good Friday, we remember the Passover Lamb Who bore all our sickness, carried our sorrows and griefs, was wounded for our transgressions, was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him. By His stripes, we are healed.
  • Jesus, as we partake of Your Body and Blood with fresh revelation, we receive Your cleansing and forgiveness and restoration to live the empowered life of overcomers by the Blood of the Lamb and the testimony of our words.
  • We decree John 6:48-58 as we partake daily of Your body and blood, we have life, abundant life and eternal life in Jesus Christ, the Lord and Saviour of the World.

The Bride of Christ in Australia and the nations makes herself ready for the marriage supper of the Lamb. Let the Spirit and the Bride say, “Come, Lord Jesus.” Amen.
