He Will Hear from Heaven – Day 1

Intention
To ready His people to repent for that nation’s healing.
Scripture
“When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
– 2 Chronicles 7:13–14
Reflection
The Lord always keeps His Word. His Word to King Solomon three thousand years ago clearly applies today if we will use it.
Today, with a few exceptions, the leaders in our nations and churches have failed to see the Lord’s hand in sending the “pestilence among My people.” He’s allowing such moral and physical pestilence to awaken us to turn back fully to Him.
And then He gives us the solution by which He will hear from heaven, forgive sin and heal a land: humble ourselves, pray, seek His face, and then turn from our wicked ways, our old sin patterns we no longer need, as new creations in Christ.
We all fall short of the glory of God but there’s no condemnation in Christ. No guilt. He loves us and wishes us to be holy as He is holy.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Holy Name, we thank You that Jesus Christ loved His Church and has given Himself for us, and is in the process of sanctifying and cleansing us by the washing of water by the Word.
We see the pestilence in our lives. Help us to get ready as His glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, to be holy, and without blemish.
And thank You, Lord, for Your mercy, that when Your people called by Your Name humble themselves, pray, seek Your face, and repent You will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land.
Amen.
