Day 28: Unshakeable
Intention
To awaken the Church to live in God’s presence, anchored in his Word and secure in Christ, so that we may stand unshakeable amid life’s challenges.
Scripture
“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful. By it, we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe.”
– Hebrews 12:28
Reflection
We are unshakeable because we serve an unshakeable God.
“Unshakeable” sounds like a rallying cry, the declaration of those who have overcome hardship through courage and faith.
Yet life reminds us that to be ‘unshakeable’ means there are things that can shake us. These are not minor inconveniences or passing disappointments. They strike at the very core of who we are. The Church and the people of God are not exempt from such trials.
The shaking may come through illness, pain, or a difficult diagnosis. It may be the loss of a loved one, the breakdown of important relationships, or opposition because of our faith.
Whatever its form, it can feel like the force of an earthquake. The business world uses the term VUCA to describe such environments: volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. In these moments, familiar foundations seem to shift and what once felt normal, good, or certain becomes difficult to recognise.
In Luke 22:31–32, Jesus warns Peter that Satan seeks to sift him, yet he also assures him of his intercession. Peter would stumble, but Jesus would not abandon him.
Our enemy seeks not merely to discourage us, but to undermine our faith, silence our witness, and hinder the work God has called us to do. One of his greatest strategies is distraction. A busy, distracted church can easily lose sight of the presence of God — the very place from which spiritual strength flows.
Like Peter, we are called to turn to Christ in holiness, righteousness, and dependence. We are to anchor ourselves in the incorruptible Word of God and establish strong foundations now, before the storms come. We are called to live from God’s presence, to know his voice, and to be shaped by our identity in him.
When our lives are rooted in Christ, we can stand firm despite the uncertainties of a VUCA world. As we remain in his presence, we gain clarity of purpose and confidence in his calling. Then, with his Word in our mouths, his voice in our ears, and his vision before our eyes, we can face a shaking world with unshakeable faith.
He has called us to walk humbly with him, be the Church, and share the good news. This is God’s answer to a broken and hurting world.

Prayer
Father, thank you for the opportunity to be part of your Church today. I want to live life from your presence, be anchored in your Word and see the challenges that come my way with your eyes.
Lord, I want to fulfil your call on my life today and every day. I choose to walk humbly before you, taking your peace, wisdom, authority and power into an ever-darkening world that is being shaken to its core. Awaken me afresh each day to walk in your life and know your call.
Amen.

Prayer Points for October 2026
We are praying for the Church to:
- Awaken to her first love for Jesus (Ephesians 5:14; Revelation 2:4).
- Awaken to evangelism so that millions will trust in Christ (John 3:16; Proverbs 11:30).
- Awaken to her prophetic voice to the nation (Isaiah 52:1; Matthew 14:4).
We invite you to support this campaign to multiply prayer in Australia for revival and see millions come to faith in Christ. Every donation to the Canberra Declaration helps us promote prayer and make a stand for family, faith, freedom, life, and the good news of God’s love through Jesus Christ.
