Shift the Nation: 24/7 Prayer 12–22 May 2023

Intention

To ready ourselves to use prayer to push through the spiritual darkness to spiritual breakthrough.

Scripture

“And now, I pray, let the power of my Lord be great, just as You have spoken, saying, ‘The Lord is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means clears the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation.’ Pardon the iniquity of this people, I pray, according to the greatness of Your mercy, just as You have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

Then the Lord said: ‘I have pardoned, according to your word; but truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord’.”

– Numbers 14:17–21

Reflection

We are looking ahead to Pentecost Sunday.

2000 years ago, in the upper room in Acts 1, the early church was in a NOW TIME – birthing what was to come for the future of the church – “the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.”

Right now, we are in a NOW TIME with Pentecost Sunday (28th May) approaching and our nation hosting the World Prayer Assembly on Oct 3–6 in Perth.

If you are hearing what is happening around the world, you will know that a lot of prayer is happening in the nations of the world. A shift is happening in the spiritual realm.

As I was meditating on this message – we had ANZAC Sunday happening last weekend – I believe the Holy Spirit was revealing to me that the armies that went to war to fight for our nations had strategies, plans and purpose. They were equipped to fight natural wars.

The Holy Spirit said to me, “My army is to look into the spiritual realm. They fight not against flesh and blood, but principalities and powers and rulers of darkness.” I was driving along the road, and I saw a road before me going up into the heavens.

“One will put a thousand to flight, but two, ten thousand. Get up in the Spirit and take back the atmosphere above the Earth. Stand united, I have given all power and authority, My name, My Word and My blood to My Church, to push back darkness over our cities and nations. I am rallying My troops to purpose in their hearts, to cry out ‘mercy’ for your nation.”

“Just as I was with Moses and Aaron, so am I with you, My Church. All the earth shall be filled with my glory. My Church is to arise and sing a new song of deliverance, to embrace My Word and blood and pray – to pray and give birth and deliverance to cities and nations. My heartbeat is souls.”

The Holy Spirit shifts hearts and realigns plans and purposes. We are just to be obedient and give birth to our nation’s destiny. We stand in the gap, plead the case; push through, and give birth to revivals and awakenings.

We hear from heaven.

We release what we hear.

We replenish, we restore the earth.

His Kingdom come here on earth as it is in heaven.

Let’s stand together and restore this Great Southland of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer

“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” (1 Peter 3:12)

Father, we thank you that your eyes are over your righteous and our prayers avail much.

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life.” (1 Tim 2:1–2)

Father, in faith, we thank you for our nation, our leaders, our Prime Minister, our premiers, mayors, teachers, and leaders in our armed forces, in Jesus’ name.

Thank you, Father, Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, in Jesus’ name. (Matt 6:10)

(Reread Numbers 14:17–20 above)

Father, forgive the iniquity of our nation. We pray that the hearts of people be turned to our Lord Jesus Christ and that all the earth be filled with Your glory. In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

Margaret, thank you for this devotion. I have often wrestled with the tension between warfare and prayer I have settled with the balance if both is what I am called to.
