Day 1: The Upper Room and the Wave of Glory Outpouring
Intention
That we would be empowered to be Jesus’ witnesses to the ends of the Earth.
Scripture
“While he was with them, he commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the Father’s promise. ‘Which’, he said, ‘you have heard me speak about; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit in a few days’. So when they had come together, they asked him, ‘Lord, are you restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?’ He said to them, ‘It is not for you to know times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’”
– Acts 1:4–8
Reflection
I have been in many rooms when I stop to think about it. Different shapes, different sizes. We served in the UK for a number of years where there were magnificent rooms in grand mansions of another era. We served in Papua New Guinea – a room very different.
Let’s go in our thinking and prayer to the Upper Room where Jesus met with His disciples. According to Scripture, the Upper Room is where the Last Supper took place. It’s where Jesus washed His disciples’ feet. And where Jesus appeared to His disciples after His resurrection.
The Upper Room is a place of prayer, refreshment, renewal, and rejuvenation.
I have been sensing for some time that the World Prayer Assembly (WPA) in Perth from October 3–6 is going to be an Upper Room experience. We are going to meet with Jesus. We are going to further usher in the waves of glory. I am believing that the Holy Spirit will be poured out.
I believe that the Holy Spirit is poured out so that we may be sent out.
In Acts 1:8, we read the great verse:
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Let me emphasise that the WPA is a prayer assembly. It is not a conference of speakers as such, although there will be speakers. It’s a gathering to worship and pray for the nations of the world at this time. Register here: https://reg.wpa2023au.org/frontpage2
Please pray for us who will be privileged to gather and as you pray for the WPA, pray for a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit in these last days that will see many saved and prodigals returned. May you each experience anew the Upper Room for such a time as this.

Prayer
Father God, we thank you for sending the Holy Spirit. We welcome the Holy Spirit, understanding from your Word that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Send us out to be your witnesses in the power of the Holy Spirit. Send us where we ought to go. For the WPA may it be an upper room: a meeting with Jesus; a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Dear Brother James/Yakov! :-)
Thank you for sharing with us your thoughts about the Upper Room and WPA. It is truly about an encounter with the Risen Lord Yeshua whereby we are changed and become change agents.
The Lord is speaking to me about His Breath/His Ruach in this season and may it be so for our gathering this year. Breathe upon us! shalom Nel Farnik
