Day 11: Awaken Us, Oh Lord
Intention
To be awake and ready for this ‘kairos’ time.
Scripture
“For anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore, it says, ‘Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you’.”
– Ephesians 5:14
Reflection
As we pray this month for the World Prayer Assembly 2023 (WPA23) and for global awakening, it is also important to make sure that we, the Ekklesia (Church), are also awake and ready.
Sometimes it seems that we are asleep, or at least many believers seem to be. We don’t pray, we don’t minister the gospel, we (sometimes) seem to just attend church and have little else to our walk with the Lord. Yet we all are ministers of the gospel and all carry the answers to a lost and dying world.
The prophet Joel shocked the nation of Israel when he ordered the blowing of the shofar (trumpet), which is akin to turning on an air raid siren (Joel 2:1). At that sound, everyone drops what they’re doing to gather for war. What enemy was bearing down on them? What army threatened them?
Once they gather, Joel explains who is breathing down their necks: God Himself is coming! The Lord raises His voice in the presence of His army. His camp is very large and those who carry out His command are powerful. Indeed, the Day of the Lord is terrible and dreadful – who can endure it (Joel 2:11)? God had seen Israel’s sin and had come to fight against them. This is exactly where we are at in history. Not just Israel but all the nations in this day.
This is why we have called for millions to pray for a wave of His glory: for an awakening to the truth of God’s Word and the fact salvation is at hand and is sorely needed by this broken world.
WPA23 is an unprecedented opportunity for the Ekklesia to gather and seek the Lord, to stand in the gap and cry out to the Lord for Him to move in Oceania and the nations.
WPA23 is not just another conference, but a calling to seek the Lord together as one and glorify His name. It is in His time, His ‘kairos’ time that we are called. Don’t miss the visitation of the Lord.

Prayer
Papa God, we desire that You would be glorified, and Your glory would fill the Earth. Awaken us to Your Kingdom purposes at this time.
We pray Psalm 5:1–3:
Give ear to my words, O Lord, Consider my meditation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray. My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.
Lord, awaken us to pray and to proclaim the gospel of Your Kingdom.
Amen.
