Intention

Be aware of His glory in us so that we will be in unity and make Him known.

Scripture

“The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.”

– John 17:22–23

Reflection

Wow, what an amazing time to be alive! We are not waiting for a move of God – we are the move. We are not waiting for a wave of glory – His glory is in us and we are the wave.

For the last couple of weeks, I have been visiting Victoria. While there, our second episode of Made in Jesus was launched in collaboration with local churches and ministries. We saw young people responding to Jesus and then coming together to pray for breakthroughs in their schools and for revival and transformation in the youth of Australia.

Then on Friday night, we hit the streets of Melbourne to preach the gospel. Among those who responded were three young men aged 17. They heard me across the street preaching about letting go of sin and stepping into freedom. Although they were headed in the other direction they crossed the street, laid their backpacks and skateboards on the footpath and ran to give their lives fully to Jesus. It was a powerful moment as they never looked back at their belongings while they received prayer and got connected for discipleship.

The following week I attended the Immerse Australia events in Melbourne where hundreds of people were baptised. At both events, the baptisms continued until around 2:30 am the following morning. There were over 200 still lining up at midnight on the first night and more arriving after that.

Many gave their lives to Jesus for the first time on the night and were baptised immediately, and many received healing from all types of sickness and injury or were delivered from demonic oppression in the water. A massive highlight was witnessing youth who had given their lives to Jesus the week before coming to be baptised.

Visiting pastor Todd Smith also preached at the baptism events. He gave a stirring message at another meeting for pastors on the importance of prayer which shouldn’t be missed!

Everywhere we went people got saved. There were three girls on the way to dinner, a guy I handed a hope card to in the phone booth, and a guy at the petrol station who had only arrived in Australia a few days earlier.

When we are aware that His glory is in us, it causes us to live intentionally to advance the Kingdom of God every day, everywhere we go, and with every person we meet. We are not telling people about a stranger. We are introducing them to someone we know. He is with us and they can experience His presence.

The joy of our salvation causes us to want to share the good news with everyone. The love of Jesus compels us and Holy Spirit propels us. All of a sudden sharing our faith comes naturally and we find our purpose in knowing Him and making Him known.

Check out the second episode of Made in Jesus below. It’s a documentary film series following the real lives and faith adventures of young Australians.

Prayer

Thank You Jesus that You have put Your glory in us so that we can be one. We thank You that You are raising up a generation who are set apart for Your glory, to know You, and to make You known. We pray that You would help us to yield, to lay aside anything that hinders us from fully surrendering to Your will, and we pray may Your kingdom come and Your will be done through us, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
