Statement: Indigenous Friends of Israel Condemn Hamas Terrorist Invasion
Indigenous Friends of Israel founders, Norman and Barbara Miller, condemn the terrorist invasion of Israel by Hamas.
“Hamas has committed war crimes by invading Israel by land, sea and air and targeting and slaughtering hundreds of civilians in a merciless and unprovoked attack.
“Hamas, who control Gaza, are a terrorist organization and are reported to have gone door to door killing civilians in their homes and shooting them in their cars, wounding, and kidnapping many.
“The Palestinians have not shown themselves to be credible partners for the two-state solution the world is promoting.
“We call on Australia’s Foreign Minister, Penny Wong, to withdraw her comments that Israel should show restraint. Israel has the right to defend its borders and ensure such an incursion is not repeated.
“The Australian government needs to offer support to Israel in her hour of need and we thank Prime Minister Mr Albanese and Opposition Leader Mr Dutton for their statements but Australia needs to provide practical support to Israel where possible.
“We also call on the Australian government to withdraw funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) as this money goes to support terrorism.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Israel in this traumatic time. We have contacted friends in Israel to express our support. We stand with Israel.”
