Canberra Declaration Officially Launches 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting for Life!
On Wednesday night, 17 January Canberra Declaration officially launched this vital time of 21 days of prayer and fasting (21 January–10 February) for life!
Over the past five years, Canberra Declaration has supported strategic times of prayer for life organised by the Love Adelaide (now expanded to Love Australia!) team.
This year, Love Australia is running 21 Days of Compassion and Mercy for the Unborn from Sunday 21 January to Saturday 10 February 2024. This is 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting for LIFE! You are invited to be a part of it!
The life battle is one of our core issues at Canberra Declaration. There is no greater sadness and no greater wickedness than the tens of thousands of innocent lives taken every year in Australia through abortion. Who will speak up for the little ones? See the video below.
The Official Launch of 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting!
To launch this vital time of 21 days of prayer, the Canberra Declaration community joined together on Wednesday 17 January for a special Zoom meeting. This was the official launch to this year’s prayer campaign.
We were delighted that Jodie Pickard, leader of Love Adelaide, along with Ann Browne, were our very special guests!
Watch the official launch below, and hear why 2024 is a pivotal year for life and how these 21 Days of Compassion and Mercy for the Unborn will draw us closer to God’s heart for the unborn.
Praying and Fasting for Life in 2024
Jesus asked this vitally important question: “Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?” (Luke 6:9). His point is very clear: to save life is to do good and to destroy life is to do evil.
As “the author of life” (Acts 3:15), Jesus willingly laid down His own life upon the cross so that every person could have physical and spiritual everlasting life (John 3:16; 1 Cor 15:51–55). Even while we were His enemies and destined for everlasting death, Jesus had life on His mind for us (Rom 5:8).
While we see the continual decline in our governments in legislating to save life, at the same time, the pro-life movement continues to swell and grow. Churches and individual believers are being called to action. This is a time to take courage and stand for life!
2024 looms as a crucial year. Specifically, we will pray that the Children Born Alive Bill will be debated in the Senate this year. Upholding in prayer the brave senators standing for righteousness and indeed all our parliamentarians is both godly and crucial (1 Tim 2:1–4). Let’s join ourselves with the Father’s heart which remains steadfast in His love and compassion for the unborn.
For each of the 21 days, the Daily Declaration will publish a devotional (alongside daily news articles) to help you strategically pray and come into alignment with God’s heart for the unborn. Please sign up for the Daily Declaration’s daily news emails by clicking the green button below:
Finishing with a Climax: Adelaide Walk for Life on 10 February 2024
The 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting for Life strategically culminates with the Adelaide Walk for Life on 10 February. Though it is a South Australian event, we are asking all Australians to pray for all life events and ministries in all the states and territories of Australia.
The Love Adelaide team invite all those who are passionate about this life issue to come and join them for their 2024 Walk for Life. Please see the invitational video below.
Yours for LIFE,
Samuel Hartwich & Warwick Marsh
