Day 7 – Fruit of Compassion
When he saw the crowds, he felt compassion for them,
because they were distressed and dejected, like sheep without a shepherd.
~ Matthew 9:36 (CSB)
Jesus is full of compassion. He had compassion on the sick and healed them in Matthew 14:14 (CSB):
When he went ashore, he saw a large crowd, had compassion on them, and healed their sick.
Jesus had compassion on the physically hungry and provided food by way of miraculous provision in Matthew 15:32 (CSB):
Jesus called his disciples and said, “I have compassion on the crowd, because they’ve already stayed with me three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry, otherwise they might collapse on the way.”
The blind received sight ~ Matthew 20:34 (CSB):
Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes. Immediately, they could see, and they followed him.
And the lepers were cleansed when Jesus was moved by compassion, as recorded in Mark 1:41 (CSB):
Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched him. “I am willing,” he told him. “Be made clean.”
Miraculously, even the dead were raised to life when Jesus had compassion in situations that would cause devastation to people’s lives. See Luke 7:13 (CSB): When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said, “Don’t weep.”
Jesus demonstrated compassion and mercy wherever He went, and there was always fruit for every interaction. May His body of believers do likewise in these days of great trial.
Worship:
Prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, thank You for Your great compassion demonstrated by Your Son Jesus our Lord. May we, Your people who have You indwelling in us by Your Holy Spirit, be vessels of compassion and mercy in these days. Soften our hearts to be willing to love even if it is costly.
Help us by Your grace to help our compassion bear fruit for those trapped in darkness and fear, unable to see Your way of life for their unborn child. Help us, Lord, to be true representations of Your mercy, to see many babies rescued and be given safe loving homes in which to be raised.
Lord, forgive us for our selfish ways, and any time we have been hard-hearted and condemning to others. Let us be so enveloped in Your love and forgiveness that we pour that same comfort and reassurance to even the most broken in our world.
Open our eyes, Lord, to those around us who are hurting or in danger of committing the atrocity of aborting their own offspring. Send angels and people to be Your rescuers for the babies and ministers of Your love to the mothers. In the Name of Jesus, our strong tower of protection, Amen.
Prayer Points:
- It is crucial for Australians to stand united and shout out for the Babies Born Alive through failed abortion to be given life-saving treatment and care and not left to die. Pray for the Senate to vote for the Babies Born Alive Bill. Senator Matt Canavan, Senator Ralph Babet and Senator Alex Antic have co-signed a bill to give babies born alive from abortion a right to life. No More Delay! Let this become a loud election issue for this government. Hear firsthand a midwife’s grief and a Born Alive after a failed abortion story.
- Pray the Love Adelaide — Walk for Life 2024 on Feb 10th from 10am-12pm will grow in momentum to double last year — that nothing will hinder the church standing against legalised abortion, to add their strength and support to end the abortion crisis in our nation and beyond. Pray for health for everyone, especially the overseas guest speaker, doors of favour to open, more volunteers for the walk and the weather to be favourable.
- We pray for every state and territory of Australia to recognise that every life is a gift from God — for the church to arise in the cause of defending life in the womb from the horror of abortion and come together to stand for life. For greater numbers to be in attendance at the “Walk for Life Adelaide” on 10 February 2024 and “March for Life” Brisbane — date TBA, Mackay “March for the Babies” October, “March for the Babies” Melbourne, Love Sydney Walk for Life — date TBA, Perth’s rally for Life in May, and for all Territories and States to join in and hold a Walk for Life in their city/region.
- Even though every state in Australia has changed Legislation to allow abortion up to birth, we can all work together to change such legislation. It’s all about numbers — Pray that we unify and work together to make abortion unthinkable in Australia. Pray for the number of awakened righteous politicians and leaders in every sphere of influence to increase, and be empowered and emboldened to change the laws and influence this generation with the truth about abortion.
- Ask for many more churches across the nation to be aware of the women in their midst who are suffering through having had an abortion. To have spiritual discernment to identify women with a crisis pregnancy who need the help, hope and love of Jesus to keep the baby or choose adoption into a loving home. That every church be a trusted place of mercy and compassion to be known and operating as Houses of Refuge for the unborn and families. For Hubs of Love to be established in every city and town in the nation.
‘And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.’
~ Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)
May God Bless you as you pray these 21 Days of Compassion and Mercy for the Unborn.

Four years after the overturning of Roe v Wade, abortions in America have nearly doubled — because unregulated abortion drugs are being shipped across state lines with virtually no oversight, no verification, and no consequences. But the consequences for the mother are severe, and for the baby, deadly.

Identificational repentance is a very powerful corporate, priestly (1 Peter 2:9) prayer weapon, in which believers stand in the gap for their family, church, city, or nation by naming the sins that have shaped a people, confessing them before God, and turning from those patterns in heartfelt humility.

Most Australians still believe in human dignity and inalienable rights, essential truths for a just legal system. What they’ve since abandoned is the only foundation that make those beliefs coherent.
