Prayer and Evangelism in 2025 — Dealing with a Broken, Evil and Godless World System
This year, may we bring God’s Kingdom into politics and society with prayer, righteousness, holiness, and love.
If we have been paying even a little attention for the past 10 or so years to what’s going on in our society, we will recognise there are some very strange and concerning trends at play. Wokeness, social justice, Cultural Marxism, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), Black Lives Matter, the supposed climate crisis, intersectionality, population control, LBGT+ ideologies, transhumanism and more have been the hot topics of our day. Many Christians are feeling confused about what to think and how or even if they should engage in these things.
Some would say we should focus on more “spiritual” matters. After all, the reasoning goes, didn’t Jesus say that His kingdom was not of this world? But this is a cop-out, since part of our calling is to manifest the kingdom of God here and now.
Understanding the Drivers of the World System
Before we can do anything, we must get to the root issue. So, what is driving people who are part of the world system?
It is quite simple to see there is a pathological need for people to feel in control. Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt (often identified by the acronym FUD) about everything leaves people feeling inadequate and unable to cope. A need for control arises from anxiety about the future or fear of unpredictability. Controlling situations or people provides a shallow sense of security that people cling to. Proverbs 29:18 sums it up: “Without revelation [vision] people run wild, but one who listens to God’s instruction will be happy [full of joy].”
This is why people without the Lord can be so divisive and also hateful towards Christians, we are not controlled by the world system but are submitted to the Holy Spirit in our lives. In this sense, we are uncontrollable! And that leads people to hate us.
In a nutshell, people are made in God’s image but because they reject God, they are left empty and hopeless without the Lord and thus try to find any solution other than God.
The manifestation of this class of kingdoms is evident through all the world system agendas. We are at war for godliness, holiness, love, truth, and righteousness, and are opposed to lawlessness, hate and countless other ills. God’s Word makes this clear in 2 Timothy 3:1-5:
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
And Also in Galatians 5:19-25:
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
We must see the real issue is that those apart from Christ are perishing without God’s life, and we can bring the answers through the gospel of the kingdom.
The Gospel of the Kingdom
Jesus preached the gospel of the kingdom, which includes the following:
- Salvation
- Healing
- Deliverance
- Reconciliation and restoration
- Prosperity (as our soul prospers, trusting the Lord)
- Charity and giving
- Transformation of society to a righteous set of values and behaviours
In other words, God’s kingdom rules all spheres of society. We as the church or Ekklesia need to manifest His kingdom. We are change agents for the Lord through His authority and His Word.
God’s kingdom transcends all forms of politics. He rules beyond time and space. He gives us His authority — the authority of the name of Jesus — to deal in heavenly places, to deal with principalities and powers. He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He is sovereign.
We are God’s servants, called by His name. We, the Ekklesia, manifest His kingdom on earth. We are kings and priests under the Lordship of Christ. We are His sons and daughters, blessed to be a blessing, made rich by His sacrifice, set free to set others free.
It is from this place we see the corrupt world system and bring His truth, love, righteousness, holiness, freedom, and deliverance.
So Where Do We Fit Politically as Christians?
We are not just conservative, or libertarian, or socialist, or left, or right. Instead, we bring grace, love, compassion, power, truth, freedom, charity, and righteousness in God’s harmony to the world!
Basically, we do not fit any one world model, but bring the full gospel of the kingdom (not just salvation) to the world. Christianity is a radical change from the world system, bringing us all back to God’s original design.
We also need to address a trap for Christians: the ideas of “social justice” and “political correctness” that lead down a rabbit hole of deception. These are fundamentally wrong because in the end, they devalue individuals and God’s values.
How so? We must consider social justice as opposed to true, legal and godly justice, in light of so-called progressive identity politics.
I do not believe in social justice, rather I do believe in justice — unqualified justice. Martin Luther King Jr. also did not believe in social justice. He famously said, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character.”
To seek justice based on a person’s social grouping — their race, religion or other group identity — rather than their individual character, is a travesty of justice.
King nailed it in his I Have a Dream speech by using the phrase “content of their character” — which is the only basis upon which a person should be valued.
The whole concept of social justice is built on a false foundation — a notion of group membership defining your identity and values, rather than the God-given individual character, conscience, spirit and soul which we are.
On the subject of economics, we can also manifest God’s kingdom. The following quote is well known, and (wrongly) attributed to Winston Churchill. I am not sure of the origin, but it is well worth considering:
If you are not a socialist when you are young, you have no heart, and if you are not a free-market capitalist when older, you have no brains.
As a Christian we can have best of both! Both systems fail in the end for the same reason: greed. Both want to take from others.
It is interesting that free market capitalism has set more people free from poverty than any other system in history. Yet greed can also warp this system, especially when God is not in the picture.
Socialism works until you run out of other people’s money. It makes the state ‘God’ and thus is anti-Christ at its core.
We can expect to receive just wages and increase from the Lord, while being compassionate and loving. This is sustainable. Only under the Lord’s hand can we truly live in harmony.
I could go further but will leave these thoughts for people to consider. Yes, we must bring God’s kingdom into politics and society with righteousness, holiness and love.
Beyond Politics, Prayer and Evangelism
Matthew 9:36 tells us that as Jesus travelled, He engaged with crowds of people who came to Him with mixed motives, some downright evil. Some were desperate for physical healing, others seeking respite from political oppression, others curious, others with agendas. Regardless, as Jesus engaged with crowds of people, he had “compassion on them”.
Yet what is critical to note is what drove His compassion: “because they were harassed and helpless like sheep without a Shepherd”. This showed the spiritual condition of the people. They were distant from God.
So, in the face of this darkness, what does Jesus spend his time doing? Matthew 9:35 tells us that Jesus:
- Taught in the synagogues, explaining God’s Word
- Proclaimed the gospel of the kingdom
- Performed many miracles
- Spoke and acted so people would see that He is the Messiah come to earth to gather God’s people into His kingdom
So this year, let us pray together as the Ekklesia and do what Jesus did. Let us be Jesus to Australia and the world. We do this from a place of oneness. Let us come together and pray then act. As Jesus prayed in John 17:22-23:
And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

Great article Kym.
A very accurate picture of the World system at odds and of course at war with God.
Let us strive to show Jesus in relevance and love to a dying world.
See you Sunday night. It’s simple and it’s truth. Australia needs Jesus
Thanks, Kym, for this valuable and powerful focus for 2025.
Thanks Ian. We will be discussing this topic Sunday night
Lord help us be faithful, the salt and light You ordained us to be. To rule as Your ekklesia to bring Your Kingdom to earth as it is in heaven,, to fulfil all You have planned for us for Your glory. To see Babylon and the walls of Jericho fall. To expect miraculous sudden lies in Jesus Name Amen.
Thanks! See you tonight on Zoom
Kym explains well the traps of “Social Justice “and “Political Correctness “. Thank you !
Thanks! Yes, it’s something we need to have good understanding of.
Thank you Kym, for your inspiring view of how we believers can engage so helpfully with our neighbours and society, through God’s living Word and Spirit. He is not sleeping; nor are we ! There is work to be done 😄
Hi Kym,
thank you for clearly defining the term social justice. And for drilling into the Scriptures regarding why and how Jesus responded to the sheep without a shepherd – and in particular of course, to the lost sheep of the House of Israel. PtL indeed, for the continuing dismantling of the enemies of Israel – but even more for the many salvations in Israel and beyond, by the compassion and revelation of Jesus the Messiah.
Dear Kym. Thank you! This article is like a breath of fresh air to my soul.! The clarity you have brought out here is such a help for us to understand the prevailing deceptions in the light of Scripture. It is a strategic instrument for us to hit the target & call forth & decree God’s Kingdom will realignment. From these points, may we decree God’s plumline mandate back into Australia, for us to be His people, His possesion & inheritance as part of His South Lands of His Holy Spirit of Truth. Thank you Kym this declaration of Truth & exposing of lies is a precious gift to us all. God Bless you.
Thanks! We must go forward with the truth.
Hi, I’m new to CD and attended the meeting last night.
I have enjoyed connecting and reading your reflections and insights.
I do however would like to know more about your thoughts on Black Lives Matter and whether you are referring to America or Australia or both?
As an Aboriginal Christian woman, I have seen and heard stories of the racism and mistreatment of Aboriginal people in the justice system. The systemic racism present in this Country.
The black lives matter in Australia is about shining a light on the criminalisation, hyper incarceration, and high incidents of deaths in custody impacting black and First Nations people around the world.
Below I have included two links about All lives matter and what the black lives matters perspectives are, which all CD members will find helpful and educational. The other link is about Aboriginal deaths in custody statistics to help understand the real concerns and matters Aboriginal people are faced with on top of their daily lives dealing with racism and discrimination.
In your article you share about Manifesting the Kingdom of God here and now, about being at war for godliness, holiness, love, truth, and righteousness and opposed to lawlessness, hate, and countless other ills, Jesus preaching the gospel which included salvation, healing, deliverance, reconciliation and restoration, prosperity, charity and giving. To bring the full gospel (not just salvation) to the world.
With this in mind, how would Jesus respond to Aboriginal people who have lost loved ones due to the systemic racism within the justice system in Australia? Should we not do the same. Why put a negative spotlight on the deaths of Aboriginal people who have died in custody, when these lives matter to God, whom Jesus gave His life for as well.
What part can CD members do to bridge the gap and support Aboriginal people and come alongside them to show them the love, grace and truth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Let’s not widen the gap between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people. Let us be the instruments in God’s loving hands that represents God’s heart for all people.

Thanks Alice.
I was primarily referring to the BLM which is cloaked Marxism in the US.
I’d suggest talking with Gloria Watkins (Aboriginal minister and community leader in WA) and others for a deeper take on these issues.
We have as Christians repented for past evils, and we must see the way forward is being one in Christ, there is no other workable answer. This is true reconciliation with God and each other.

Thank you Kym for showing how uncertainty, doubt and fear has created a whole new trend in our land and for tracing the massive changes in Australia.
In 1901, it was so good that the original constitution has guidelines based on Christian Judeo principles valuing every life, every race, every institution that was appointed to do good for the people of the land. That included Biblical principles of offering education, health and chances to earn a living, as well as guarding families, the rights of citizens and children.
It is so tragic that we moved away from the acceptance of the word of a God as absolute standard and good role models that were a product of it, and instead we allowed new values to come in that included the ‘woke’ values. These included pushing LGBT agendas in schools, comfort and pleasure seeking after the Great Depression and after WW2 so that drugs and alcohol came in along with new forms of violence and disrespect.
Sadly the ‘Left’ in politics favored this turning to secularism and socialism over the last 30yrs and then gradually the whole social system fell apart as we lost as a society lost the values God had give, and became a secular and materialistic nation.
We have so much to win back now like honoring marriage between male and female, respect for the law and law and order, rehab centres to help those addicted to substances, work programs and career paths are needed in place of the LGBT teaching,, and justice is so needed in the courts but we can’t do it without reinstating God and His word.
I thank God for the dedicated team under Canberra Declaration leadership and all the other prayer groups (with action) across the land and beyond, who seek to see Australian values turn back to God and to know Him as their Creator, Loving Father, law giver and judge – and as The Coming King of Kings. Amen.
