Why the Left and Islamists Understand Each Other
United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer is a lefty in London, but he would just as easily be an Islamist in Kabul.
And this is the thing you need to understand about all Western lefties. Those on the left have a giant soft spot for Islamists, because those on the left so readily identify with the Mohammedans’ love of ideological purity.
Just as the Taliban’s first point of order after polishing their kalashnikovs in Kabul was to destroy the Buddhas of Bamiyan, the UK Labor government’s first priority was to rid Downing Street of graven images.
Keir Starmer had no sooner sat down at Number 10 than he announced he would be removing portraits from the walls that offended his ideological bent.
Whitewashed
Former Liberal Prime Minister William Gladstone had to go. It mattered not that Gladstone had been one of the UK’s most substantive leaders. His family’s involvement in slavery meant Number 10 had to be cleansed of his image.
A portrait of Queen Elizabeth I also had to go, presumably because the State of Virginia in the US was named after the Virgin Queen, and Virginia was a slave state.
Obvious, right?
The portrait of Margaret Thatcher was dumped as well. Thatcher is a heroine of conservatism who would have served as a reminder of Starmer’s mediocrity.
That could not be tolerated.
Feminism
Of course, a place for Thatcher’s portrait might have been found at Number 11, where the chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves, was busy replacing every portrait featuring men with portraits portraying women.
Addressing an all-female gathering, the nation’s first female chancellor said:
“Every picture in this room is either going to be of a woman or by a woman – and we’re also going to have a statue in this room of Millicent Fawcett, who did so much for the rights of women.”
So would Thatcher find a new home at Number 11?
Of course not.
Every picture of a woman, or by a woman, would need to be of, or by, a certain kind of woman!
Are you picking up what is most important here?
Not history.
Not truth.
But ideological purity.
Purge
Only those paintings that supported the Labour Government’s ideology would be permitted to remain on display. All others needed to be binned, since they served no purpose.
What truth or history or meaning exists beyond Marxism?
And so you see, we can be sure that if Keir Starmer or Rachel Reeves had been born in Kabul, they surely would have been Islamists of statue-destroying propensities.
They would have regarded everything that was not of their doctrine — no matter how beautiful or true or historic — as Jahiliyyah.
Is there a difference between the Taliban in Islamic robes blowing up the Buddhas or the Labor leadership in suits throwing Gladstone and Queen Elizabeth I into a dark storage unit?
Of course not.
When you understand that Islamists and the Left are cut from the same cloth, you’ll finally understand why they seem to have such an obvious soft spot for one another.

Another great article from you, James ! Without you we would be”mushrooms kept in the dark ” about the removal of portraits of famous UK Prime Ministers from10 Downing St.. Just as we thought we had seen the last of Communism when Russia + Eastern Europe denounced it, we have the resurgence of the Left in UK + Australia , both a dangerous bunch of Marxists bent on destroying, rewriting History + attacking all religions unless they are Islam whose ideology is just as intolerant as Marxism . These 2 have much in common ! Woke is under attack in USA, Austria, etc , but, we are in grave danger now in Australia as we have no Leader like Trump . The closest potential one we have is Tony Abbott , but, he is not even an MP so cannot stand. Pray Hard, because I think without the Almighty’s Intervention , Australia is lost forever to the twin Evils of combined Islam’s Sharia Law + Marxism.
