The Australian Creed for Sexual Integrity Continues to Gather Momentum!
Since its release on 31 October last year, the Australian Creed for Sexual Integrity has continued to gather momentum. For this, we rejoice!
Over 3,000 people have now signed the creed in little over two months. Plus, the list of initial signatories (those with leadership positions in Christian churches and organisations) continues to climb.
The Canberra Declaration’s purpose is to promote godly and biblical marriage/family, faith, freedom and life. As a result, we are thrilled to endorse this creed and promote it as widely as possible.
On December 27, US-based podcaster Becket Cook, with 163,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel, posted a video on the creed. It has already had over 32,000 views on YouTube alone! For this increasing exposure across the globe, we rejoice! You can watch Becket discuss the creed in the video below.
As Becket says, so many Christians in the pew are now unsure whether homosexual behaviour or transgender ideology is within or outside of biblical morality.
But where confusion abounds today, the Australian Creed brings crisp clarity to this deeply personal and vitally important biblical teaching.
Recently, Rev Mark Powell published a piece in The Spectator Australia on the creed, once again reaching a new audience. You can read that article here, as well as access it on the Daily Declaration here.
Mark’s article was based on a podcast video with Bishop Glenn Davies, one of the creed’s primary drafters. As Bishop Davies says so well,
“Pastors are reluctant to speak about these matters, young people are so easily influenced by social media, and even older Christians find their views being modified with the increasing pressure of the prevailing culture.”
We are profoundly grateful for leaders such as Bishop Davies, who, in an age of compromise, are unashamedly standing upon timeless, biblical teaching. If you know of Christian leaders in your contact circles, please let them know about the creed so they can add their names to the increasing list of signatories too!
(Remember, if you have signed this before, you cannot sign it again – one signature per email address.)
You can watch Mark Powell’s interview with Bishop Davies in the video below!
Last, but not least, we want to thank everyone again for your support of the Canberra Declaration. Our prayers during October for the restoration of sexual integrity continue to bear much fruit!
Interestingly, in October, an 18-year-old Australian secular podcaster made posts about quitting porn. His YouTube, Facebook and Instagram posts have been seen by millions. There is a great desire by many in our society to be free from sexual immorality – whether they understand who Jesus is or not.
In response to one of his videos (please note, the video contains expletives), someone wrote,
“I’m a mess right now. I’m completely addicted to porn, and it’s been wrecking my life. I’m so tired of living like this. I’m done with this. Every time I give in, I feel awful, like a failure, and I just can’t take it anymore. Thank you for helping me take this first step.”
It’s impossible to go against God’s creational design without consequences. Everyone, Christian or not, can and does feel the pain of sexual immorality. For what appears to be a growing desire for sexual integrity amidst a culture that has run in the opposite direction, we say thank you, God, for answering prayer!
Again, thank you for your prayers in October. They continue to make a difference today!
Yours for the revival and restoration of sexual integrity,
Samuel Hartwich & Warwick Marsh
