Day 16 – Abundant Life
Intention
To recognise the devil is our real enemy, but Jesus wants to give us abundant life.
Scripture
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.
I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
– John 10:10 (NKJV)
Reflection
Mercy and truth are both vital in our battles against the adversary, the devil, whom Jesus describes in John 10:10 (in the Scripture above).
Sometimes, as Christ’s followers, the battlelines of whom we are fighting become somewhat blurred.
Are we fighting those who are offering little or no options for women but to abort their child? Are we fighting the ‘culture of death’ that made abortion legal up to birth for any reason, so it is no one’s but the woman’s choice that she alone is responsible for?
Are we fighting the baby’s father, who remains silent and allows the abortion to proceed, or worse, coerces the woman to abort?
Is it the politicians who had conscience votes but were absent from debate, or had hardened hearts who passed legislation disregarding the thousands of their constituents who had made their preference to ‘NOT abort’ known to them?
Paul makes it very clear in Ephesians 6:12: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Our adversary hates humanity and is totally focused on stealing our abundant life, inheritance, love, joy, peace and knowledge of our union with Jesus.
The enemy is partnering with many – killing future generations as much as possible. Sadly, now in Australia, we are legally aborting 87–90,000 of our offspring each year! The demonic destruction is so great that statistics are showing that women who have had an abortion suffer post-abortion grief that, in some cases, leads to their own suicide.
Jesus came to earth and redeemed mankind, fulfilling all that was required so that we may have life and have it more abundantly! Abundant life includes every child being brought forth to fulfil their days, to know Him and love Him, to give Him glory.
The words coming from the Lord are wisdom and are like honey. Proverbs 24:14 says wisdom is “sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off”.
We who are praying for a culture shift would do well to speak His words of wisdom in every situation about this hotly contentious issue of abortion. God’s mercy and love flowing through our words will attract and heal those in need. His sweet, healing words of wisdom are like a balm to the broken-hearted and fearful.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, Abba, we love You, Jesus, we Love You, Holy Spirit, we love You!
May we constantly abide in You and speak forth Your words, bringing encouragement and life! And may our warfare, through Your Word, be a part in destroying the schemes, structures and works of the enemy.
Lord, let these 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting establish a greater measure of Your mercy flowing and Your truth cutting through the mindsets that oppose life – especially regarding the unborn.
Lord, we ask that You cleanse our hearts and minds so that we can be prepared to bring Your deliverance powerfully to those trapped by the enemy. We ask for Your Kingdom to come and Your will to be done on earth right now as it is in heaven.
In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, Amen.

Thank you Anne ! How blessed we are, as the Body of Christ, to be encouraged by your words, to know and share Jesus’ wonderful sufficient love and forgiveness with whoever we meet, especially those who “know” they are in need of help.
May this day be a day of grace and redemption for the unborn and their mothers, across Australia.
